CR84FN #21

For my JUGS post, please click HERE :)

Hey bleeps!!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Ready for a dose of awesome color inspiration? I thought you might be :)

The colors at CR84FN this week are just the burst of color you need to get your mojo up and at em'!!!

Aren't those pictures just beautiful!!! They are courtesy of Adam at Embrace Life Photography; he's amazingly talented. Swing by and check out his site - so much inspiration!!!

The beautiful dresses in the picture inspired me to make a burnt-edge fabric flower. These flowers are so much fun to make (thanks to Dana, who introduced me to the technique!). Simply Vintagegirl, Emily Rose, has the most wonderful tutorial on her blog HERE. Her flower looks sooooo AMAZING!!!

I wanted the leaves to look a little watercolor-ish so I inked up the stamp with Pear Tart ink from Memento then spritzed it with a little water. What can I say, I was in the mood for a little experimentation :) I like the way it turned out - a little softer but still with a punch of color.

So this is our last week with Deb Hickman, our March guest DT.  We really enjoyed having you on board for the month. Thanks so much for your sharing your amazing talent with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Saturday is here!!! So is another FUN challenge over at  Just Us Girls

Dana's challenging all of us to make a zipper flower and she's got an awesome tutorial HERE over at Want2Scrap. Fun, fun, fun!!! And they look so darn cute too!

I recently went to a Stella & Dot party and ordered a bracelet - it came in the sweetest little box (the following is just a pic of the inside) - see the inspiration for the card? :)

Love the background! I think I could use this one again and again! The stamp is from the Background Basics: Retro stamp set from PTI.

For my card, the color inspiration came from the most recent colourQ challenge colors

When I went to buy my zipper, I really wanted a purple one. Sadly, no dice. So I bought a white one and dyed it with Eggplant Adirondak ink - worked pretty well I think :) Got to use my new Leaf Dies, Doily Dies, and Tiny Tags dies and stamps too!

Also take a moment to swing by the blogs of the rest of the wonderful, talented JUGS DT as well as our March guest designer, Alyssa Scritchfield

Enjoy your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Papertrey Blog Hop time! Here's this month's challenge...

For the March Blog Hop we are challenging you to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way on
your project.  This could include stitching, wrapping it around and tying it like ribbon, braiding, accenting tags, embroidered patterns or anything else you can dream up!

Since I've been crocheting a few flowers lately I thought that would be perfect! I tried my hand at a crochet rose....

So cute! It's actually crochet thread instead of embroidery floss as it was all I had at the time - hope that's ok :)

Edited to add: Sorry, should have posted this link sooner but HERE are the instructions for the rose on my card. There are many more out there but this one makes a nice, neat, tiny one :)

I am in LOVE wit the new gingham background set *happy sigh*. I can surely see this set sitting on my craft desk for a LONG time :) I also used my brand spankin' new turning a new leaf dies and vineyard impression plate!!! Oh, heaven!
Here's a closeup of the rose...

This is where the post is going to get a bit long so please feel to scroll down if your in a rush. It won't hurt my feelings I promise - I'll never know the difference :)

I've had a few requests for craftroom photos and I FINALLY managed to make it presentable :) So here they are...

Looking in through the door into the room. I love the desk so much - it's from Ikea. In fact, much of the furniture in the room is from Ikea. The wall color is a light purple. It looks pink in some of the pics but it's a soft purple and soooo soothing :)

See the little wheely, white-drawers cabinet under the desk on the right? I can keep it under my desk for neatness or wheel it out for extra work space :) It's typically the home of my laptop :) I store all my stamp blocks, powders, adhesives, glitters, brayer, and various other sundries. There's another identical one on the opposite side of the desk.

Below, I've got a more comprehensive view of the desk (have I mentioned I love my desk :)). I'm really lucky to have some big, bright windows too :)

In the white storage boxes are adhesive refills, embellishments, ribbon bits, dies, impression plates and embossing folders, and some stamping things. My buttons are on my wall (so colorful and yummy) - they're in little magnetic storage tins from Ikea.

The little white pots and rail system also from Ikea. The floating shelves... you guessed it, Ikea :) My Copics are stored in awesome containers from Office Max for easy access. The Ottlite to the left I got on sale at Hobby Lobby (regular 80 or 90 bucks, I got it for $30 - gotta love a deal like that!).

Some of my PTI stamps ... storage for the rest to follow :) These are my most commonly used stamps. Oh, an see my new ATG gun? One of the best purchases EVAH!!!

My ribbon storage. This was a pantry shelf unit from Walmart. Works so well for ribbon.

Here's a cabinet on the wall opposite my desk. It houses my cardstocks and patterned papers as well as a lot of extra things. That's my cricut on top (bought that cover a long time ago from a place online...can't remember where).

Here are all my wood block stamps, the vast majority are from DeNami Design. The little basket on top has a few acrylic stamp sets, Martha Stewart glitter and microbeads. The little white boxes underneath the drawer units are CD boxes from Walmart and are home to the rest of my PTI stamps.

Finally, there's a little alcove in the room and this shelving unit from Ikea fit like a glove!!! See my froggie collection on the far right of the middle row?

Funny story; I managed to neaten the room but haven't vacuumed in a while. I dropped a crochet flower on the floor and when I picked it up, it looked like a tumble weed! There was cat and dog hair all over it! Needless to say, the vacuum will be visiting my craftroom soon LOL!

If you have any questions about anything in the pics, just let me know :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! I appreciate your visits :) Happy hopping!

How sweet is this Chickie Easter Basket stamp?!?! Love! I used the Three Line Border stamped in magenta and aqua inks on the top of the white cardstock and embossed the bottom of the cardstock with a swiss dots EF. I stamped Happy Easter on a white banner. I also wanted to use some fun lemon drop bakers twine from the twinery. The base is magenta cardstock from DeNami Design...one of my favs!!!

Oh, Delightful Dahlias!

Quick post folks! It's been a while since I had time to play along with a challenge apart from my DT obligations and tonight, I found a few extra moments :) YAY!
I made this card for PTI's Make It Monday (use color on colored cardstock) and the Totally Hues color challenge.

I embossed multiple Dahlias on raspberry fizz cardstock then outlined it with a RV19 Copic marker. The yellow dahlia was die cut from lemon tart cardstock and embossed in white. I used Y21 and Y26 markers to add shadows. The leaves were die cut from new leaf cardstock, embossed in white and shadowed with YG13 and YG17. I stamped my brand spankin' new gingham background in plum pudding onto white cardstock and die cut it with the Mat Stack 4 die. Oh how I love this new background stamp!!! To offset the mat stack and flower from the background, I used an embossed piece of vellum.

Gotta run! Thanks so much for stopping by!

CR84FN #20

For my JUGS post, please click HERE :)

Look at the gorgeous colors over at CR84FN this week!!!

This palette be stills my purple-lovin' heart!

The gorgeous pictures provided for our inspiration come courtesy of Adam at Embrace Life Photography. You really should check out his site. The pictures are truly amazing...

I love these tulips. I needed to make a few Mother's Day cards and the tulips called to me :) I used several Copic markers - I laid BV00 down as a base then V99, V95, V93 for the shading. The base of BV00 gave the flowers a nice hue, I think. Next time I color a few, I might try a more pinkish undertone then purple shading (just based on a few pictures I've seen). I love, experimenting with Copics :)
For the leaves, I used YG91, YG93 and YG97. I had so much fun coloring these flowers! There's something so relaxing, so basic, about coloring.

Hop on over to visit the other fabulous CR84FN DT - their links are on my sidebar :) Also make sure to visit Deb Hickman, our guest designer for March!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JUGS #76: Color Challenge with PMS!!!

Time for a color challenge at  Just Us Girls! This week Lisa has chosen the following pretty color palette;

The colors just scream spring (and it's ok to scream spring...perhaps it will actually come LOL!). Actually, spring has pretty much arrived here in east TN - it was GORGEOUS yesterday (high 70's and sunny).

Sorry, I digress... so if these fun colors weren't enough to tempt you, we've got a wonderful, generous sponsor this week!!!
Paper Makeup Stamps has generously donated stamps for the DT to use and is providing a $20 gift certificate to one randomly selected participant this week!!! YAY!!!

I chose the gorgeous Dandy Wishes, which is available in digi and rubber formats. How great is that?!?!

For some reason, I had the hardest time with these awesome colors...not sure why. I am happy with what I ultimately came up with but it took me WAAAAAY longer than it should have LOL!!! I stamped the sentiment "wish" repeatedly on lemon tart cardstock using dandelion ink (Memento). I stamped the smaller dandelions from the Dandy Wishes set on a piece of white cardstock in ocean tides ink and air brushed B21 (Copic marker) onto the background. The sentiment "make a wish" is stamped in black. To finish it off, I added Blossom bakers twine from the twinery and a sweet blush button. Easy peasy :)

Also take a moment to swing by the blogs of the rest of the wonderful, talented, down-right amazing JUGS DT as well as our March guest designer, Alyssa Scritchfield! Make sure to play along with JUGS this week for the chance to WIN!!!! Thanks so much to Katie at Paper Makeup Stamps for her generous donation!!!!

Enjoy your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!
