Traditional Christmas Colors: JUGS 115

Time for another  Just Us Girls challenge! The talented and ever-so-lovely Lynn has got a seasonal color scheme that will have you whistling Christmas tunes while you craft your little tush off!

Like many folks this time of year, we're pretty busy. We're getting ready to go visit family for the holidays - between that, work and a few other things, my mojo has been pretty near nonexistent. Exhibit A…my late post for Just Us Girls…sigh….
But I did get into the craft room today. This year, we are giving a few traditional gifts to family and friends; for the most part, it seems as if gift cards are going to form the bulk of the presents we give out. Given this need, I broke out my gift card die and went to town :)

For this first one, I die cut the snowflake from vellum and adhered it to kraft card stock.

So cute :)

I love these cute little lights! So CAS and so much fun!

Here's a pic of the back of the holder…

...and the inside. I used the little to/from stamp from the Tiny Treats series on the inside.

DeNami Product Spotlight: Upright Thank you

Time for a new DeNami Product Spotlight!!!

I LOVE the script on this one!!! So pretty!!! Don't forget, the stamp in the product spotlight is 10% off for one week!!!

While mulling over ideas for this stamp, I decided to go with a technique I hadn't used in a while - repetition stamping or "stamping off" (that term always makes me giggle - it just sounds like something you do when your angry LOL!). I used purple pigment ink to get lots of extra images. If you come by here often, you know how much I love any kind of gradient stamping so this technique just floats my boat :)

I have to credit my sweet blog buddy, Lynn Mangan, for the inspiration for the twine. She made THIS card - I fell in love with her twine treatment and knew I had to use it for a project. So cute!

December DeNami Blog Hop

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

Hope you are enjoying the December DeNami Blog Hop!

This month, the challenge was to make gift wrapping - what a great challenge!

You should have arrived here from Carol Hartery's wonderful blog.

If not, head on over to the DeNami Blog for the master list of hop participants.

You'll want to stay on track… leaving a comment on every blog along the way (including the DeNami Blog) gives you a chance to win one of THREE $20 DeNami gift certificates!!!! Another $20 gift certificate will be given to a randomly chosen blog hop participant! You have until December 12, 2011, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

Despite this being an awesome challenge, I don't have a lot of gifts to wrap this year. I've mostly got gift certificates to give with the exception of some. Plus, we're flying to a different province and airlines tend to frown upon wrapped gifts nowadays (for obvious reasons). So I stuck to tags - they are definitely something I'll use though.

I was a little all-over-the-place with the tags, trying different things here and there. I did make a few similar tags…well, I'll let you see for yourself :)

For this tag, I used DeNami's medium lacy flake and stamped it on the iridescent blue card stock for some "shimmah". Then I put the sentiment across the top, leaving room to write the "to" and "from".

For the next tag, I broke out my much neglected Distress Inks. I stamped the Medium Lacy Flake (yup, again - I seriously LOVE this stamp!) and embossed it in white. Then I went to town with Concord Grape Distress Ink. To top it off, I stamped the sentiment in turquoise ink on vellum, and stitched it to the tag. I really like how this turned out :) Oh yeah, often when I use Distress Inks, the backs of things that I distress tend to get quite messy so I cover the back with a post-it to keep it clean. Worked like a charm :) Now the back can be used for writing!

Now for the similar tags...

For this one, I used DeNami's Ornaments Stamp set….

…for this one I used DeNami's Star Swirl….

…DeNami's Ornaments again…

…and finally, my fav, the Medium Lacy Flake ;)  Don't you love the ribbon treatment? The inspiration came from my blog friend, Karen Baker - she made a tag for the May Arts blog HERE and I just LOVED it!!!

That's it from here:) Off to your next stop, which is the lovely, talented Amy Smidebush! Happy Hopping!!!

Center Step Card - JUGS 115

Time for another  Just Us Girls challenge! Sweet Kathryn is our hostess this week and she's piquing your crafty interest with a twist on card design!

The challenge this week is to create a Center Step Card!! If, like me, you've never heard of one, let alone made one, there's a tutorial HERE :)

Yes indeed, this was the first time I'd made a step card and honestly, I was a little intimidated by this one. But it was super easy! And fun to decorate!

I'm also entering this card into the latest Colourq Challenge. It's been so long since I played along - I'm really going to try to play along with a few of my favorite challenges a little more than I have been. *** edited to add - oops, I was supposed to used the colors to make anything but a card - DOH! Oh well, I still love the colors :)

Let's see what the rest of the talented JUGS DT has whipped up!!!

Time for a new DeNami Theme Challenge!!!

Before we dive right into the brand new challenge, we have a new guest designer for December!! YAY Danielle! So exciting to have you join DeNami for the month!!! Welcome girl!

This time around, it's all about Christmas! So let's see your amazing yuletide creations!

For this card, I used the following DeNami products;
- Large Ornament
- Small Pine Sprig
- Contempo Christmas
- Holiday Petit Four
- Magenta cardstock

I hadn't made a shaker card in some time and the ornament stamp from DeNami just seemed perfect for such a card. I filled the inside with teal microbeads. Kind of a fun card, dontcha think?
