CR84FN #70

It's CR84FN color challenge time again!

How springy and beautiful are these colors?! When I saw the gorgeous graphic, I thought of sun and sand, especially since I live in eastern Canada and we have snow and more snow right now :)

I used my new Cameo to make the sun and the sand. I ran the sand cutouts through my Sizzix to give it texture. I also tried playing with shading chalks...with variable success. I've leaned a few more tricks so hopefully my next attempt will be better ;) I created the aqua sky with Distress Ink. The clouds are die cuts from Papertrey Ink. The wonderful sentiment is from DeNami Design - so cheery!

CR84FN #67

It's an exciting time over at CR84FN! We have brand new colors for our challenge this week, but first, some really awesome news!!!

The CR84FN family has grown! Drum roll, please...

Help me in extending a huge, warm welcome to;

These fabulously talented, awe-inspiring ladies are going to add such amazing inspiration to the color challenges - make sure you swing by to say welcome and you'll see what I mean! Welcome ladies!!!! We are so, so ecstatic to have you all aboard!

On to this weeks CR84FN color challenge. These colors are GORGEOUS! I love purple!!!

I had a few ideas for this palette; however, I must admit I had a bit more trouble than I bargained when trying to put together a card...I'll blame it on being tired :) But I seriously do love these colors. Talk about a fabulous, non-traditional color scheme!

The snowflakes are heat embossed in gold, then I used Concord Grape distress ink to make them stand out.

CR84FN #66

Elegance is the theme with this week's CR84FN colours

They just exude class and style.

I went for a simple design that I thought was elegant in it's own way. I die cut three colours of card stock using an undulating die from Papertrey Ink (In the Meadow). I then pieced the die cuts together and embossed the lot. I thought about adding a few more embellishments but then decided I liked it the way it was :)

Hope you'll join in on the fun! Thanks so much for stopping by!

How about another beautiful CR84FN color challenge?!

No watercolors this time :)

Instead I used pretty blue, stripy, patterned paper and stamped a sentiment on top. The patterned paper is backed by chocolate cardstock, all placed on top of embossed kraft cardstock. I added a little, tan heart to finish it off.

Make sure to swing by CR84FN and see what the AMAZING DT has whipped up!

Happy weekend to you all!

Time for a new CR84FN color challenge and these colors are AMAZING! I just LOVE them :)

This is a combo you could use any time of year. Truly. Summer, fall…even Christmas time. Seriously fantastic, non-traditional Christmas colors. Wait, I'm talking about Christmas…already! Never to early to start thinking about it I guess ;)

Here's my take on these delicious colors.

I have been getting good milage out of the Mat Stack 3 die (from Papertrey Ink) lately. I can't seem to put it down. Just one of those things, and I'll run with it :)

Check out all the gorgeous DT samples over at the CR84FN blog, including our guest designer for the month, Monika.

Check out these fabby colors for the latest CR84FN challenge...

This GORGEOUS palette was chosen by Heather - thanks for the beautiful colors Heather!

I gave in to a little negative die cutting...

When I do this type of negative die cut, I will place the actual die cut down on the card stock and assemble the negative around it, then remove the die cut template. Makes piecing it back together a whole lot faster :)

CR84FN #49 Take Two

It's week two of the latest CR84FN color challenge

Here's my card for the second week...

I stamped and embossed a medallion and used distress inks to make it pop. I cut the end off a mega mat stack die cut and used it for my sentiment.

Time for an all new CR84FN color challenge

I just love these colors! The neutrals with a pop of yellow. So lovely. We have a new guest designer for the month - please help us welcome Shannon White!!! Welcome Shannon - we are so excited you are joining us at CR84FN!

After die cutting the word baby, I decided to stamp "congratulations of the birth of your" - in retrospect I feel like I should have just left it well enough alone. Just the word "baby" without the stamped text. Otherwise, I kinda like how it turned out :) Enough whining here - lets see what you can do with these fabulous colors!

Center Step Card - JUGS 115

Time for another  Just Us Girls challenge! Sweet Kathryn is our hostess this week and she's piquing your crafty interest with a twist on card design!

The challenge this week is to create a Center Step Card!! If, like me, you've never heard of one, let alone made one, there's a tutorial HERE :)

Yes indeed, this was the first time I'd made a step card and honestly, I was a little intimidated by this one. But it was super easy! And fun to decorate!

I'm also entering this card into the latest Colourq Challenge. It's been so long since I played along - I'm really going to try to play along with a few of my favorite challenges a little more than I have been. *** edited to add - oops, I was supposed to used the colors to make anything but a card - DOH! Oh well, I still love the colors :)

Let's see what the rest of the talented JUGS DT has whipped up!!!

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

Check out the new, cozy CR84FN #42 challenge colors!!! So many possibilities!

I've been deriving a lot of inspiration from other crafters as of late, and this one is no exception. Maile Belles posted THIS CARD a little while ago and I feel immediately in love! I knew I had to CASE it. I'm also entering this card in the Buttons Galore and More Christmas Card/Tag Party.

I embossed the Tree Trimming die on kraft, stamped the tree image then cut off the left side of the card stock. I stamped a few snowflakes on the base then stamped and embossed the sentiment on the top. I dunno why but I really feel uncomfortable stamping the sentiment up there! How weird is that?!?! It sorta makes me twitch…Funny huh? Or just plain scary LOL!

Check out what the other wonderful DT members have up their super crafty sleeves;
