CR84FN #68

Time for another B-E-A-U-tiful CR84FN color challenge! But before we get to the colors, we just want to let all our loyal CR84FN followers know that this is the last post before we go on a holiday hiatus - CR84FN will return in all it's glory on Sunday, December 30th for CR84FN69.

But for the next two weeks, we have these fabulous colors to play with..

I absolutely LOVE this color combo - I really do. It is one of my favs to date.

Given the impending holidays, poinsettias seemed to fit the bill for the burgundy in the palette.

I used the Christmas poinsettias die from Papertrey Ink to create a partial die cut in cream cardstock. Then I stamped a few poinsettias on the cardstock, stamping one in place of the die cut. The cream cardstock was dry embossed with the linen impression plate from Papertrey Ink. I then clear embossed a background on a dark grey cardstock base and attached the cream cardstock.

CR84FN #66

Elegance is the theme with this week's CR84FN colours

They just exude class and style.

I went for a simple design that I thought was elegant in it's own way. I die cut three colours of card stock using an undulating die from Papertrey Ink (In the Meadow). I then pieced the die cuts together and embossed the lot. I thought about adding a few more embellishments but then decided I liked it the way it was :)

Hope you'll join in on the fun! Thanks so much for stopping by!

DeNami Color Challenge

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

It's DeNami challenge time! This time around, it's a color challenge and Wendy's picked out such an elegant, classic combo...

And here's what I came up with...

I used DeNami's large hibiscus stamp - I love that big, beautiful image (just so you know, they also have the hibiscus in other sizes too :)). I used grey card stock as the base and stamped the hibiscus using white acrylic paint. I stamped another hibiscus in black on white card stock,  colored it with yellow pastel, cut it out and popped it up on a strip of white card stock. Then I finished it off with one of my fav sentiments.

Make sure to pop by the DeNami blog and check out what the rest of the incredible DT has to share :)

CR84FN #55

Time for a new CR84FN challenge!!! Hope all my US peeps are having a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. In Canada, our long weekend (Victoria Day) was last week.

These colors are AMAZING!!!

A while back, I saw a picture of beautiful, purple roses.

That was the effect I was going for with this card. Perhaps I could have gone slightly darker with the purple on the rose but I do like the color when all is said and done.

Hope you'll swing by the CR84FN blog to check out the fantastic samples by the talented DT!

CR84FN #49 Take Two

It's week two of the latest CR84FN color challenge

Here's my card for the second week...

I stamped and embossed a medallion and used distress inks to make it pop. I cut the end off a mega mat stack die cut and used it for my sentiment.

Time for an all new CR84FN color challenge

I just love these colors! The neutrals with a pop of yellow. So lovely. We have a new guest designer for the month - please help us welcome Shannon White!!! Welcome Shannon - we are so excited you are joining us at CR84FN!

After die cutting the word baby, I decided to stamp "congratulations of the birth of your" - in retrospect I feel like I should have just left it well enough alone. Just the word "baby" without the stamped text. Otherwise, I kinda like how it turned out :) Enough whining here - lets see what you can do with these fabulous colors!

Week 2 of the CR84FN color challenge

Such beautiful colors :)

I stamped my flowers (Lace Bouquet from PTI) in smokey shadow then colored them with copics. I pushed the color into the card stock with colorless blender on a piece of fabric to dilute it a little. Then I stamped text over top and embossed in white. I placed a piece of vellum under a negative die cut, then stamped and embossed the sentiment. The sentiment is from a Thank You set that PTI sent out to their customers, well, to say thank you :)

Time for a new CR84FN challenge!

These colors are just so beautiful. I really love purple; mixed with green and grey, well that's just gravy!

I decided to make one last Valentine's card before the big day;

I stamped lavender stripes and grey dots on a piece of soft stone card stock.

JUGS 120 - Collage Stamping

We've got a FUN technique challenge over at Just Us Girls! The sweet and talented Lynn is challenging you to try your hand at collage stamping!

You can run amok with this particular technique - just go wild!

My tendency is to go with earth tones for this technique, not sure why. Browns, dark oranges, greens…they would just seem to work so well with layering of stamps. But as this is a challenge, I wanted to try a few fun colors and see if I could make them work for this technique :)

I used the awesome color palette from colourQ this week. So pretty :)

Check out what the rest of the talented JUGS DT has whipped up!!!
