CR84FN #35

For my JUGS post, click HERE

Hellooooo out there! Before I get to my CR84FN card, let me apologize to all of my bleeps - I have been MIA a lot lately. Work has been busy and on top of that we've spent much of our free time preparing for our move. It's coming up fast :) I miss visiting everyone's blogs and getting my daily dose of awesome inspiration but my blogging activities will resume in a few weeks. Please don't take my infrequent visits as lack of interest - I still LOVE you all and miss you tremendously!

On to fresh CR84FN color inspiration!

These fabulous foots come from A Creative Mint - *drool*. Check out Leslie's site for amazing, juicy inspiration!

I got down with my bad, crafty self and came up with this ditty...

I love the new Gracious Vases set from PTI and could NOT wait to use it for this card! Aren't those little vases so cute lined up on the shelf?! I made the shelf using the bottom half of the Mat Stack #3 stamp (from PTI) - the idea came from the lovely Nancy and a card she made here. Clever, clever girl :) Thanks Nancy!

Here's a close up of the vases on their shelf. I cut out a couple to play with dimension a bit. The patterns on the vases are from the Bitty Backgrounds set - a great scale for the size of the vases. Subtle shading was then added with Copics for a little more dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I truly appreciate and treasure your visits - you really brighten my days!

JUGS #95: Use Fabric on a Project

What a freakin' week! I'm not sure if I've ever been happier to see a Friday…it was busy this week and the A/C was out at work for 3 days…let's just say it doesn't make for the most patient of co-workers ;)

Not only is it the weekend, but it means a brand spankin' new JUGS Challenge
Our lovely Lisa is challenging us to use fabric on a project! So beautiful and fun! I just wish I owned more fabric :)

I was so excited about using fabric, I had to try this twice :)

I used muslin for this first card - the leaves are stamped using pigment ink directly onto the muslin. I really like the look of the muslin! So rustic. I really wanted to use leaves for this card - perhaps the fall colors are inspired by my deep desire for cooler weather…*sigh*. So hot…

I had this really fun, polka dotted fabric and decided to use sections of it on a card. A pretty CAS card but fun nonetheless :)

Hope you find time to play along! I'm hoping to get more crafty time this weekend but I'll have to play it by ear as I've got tons of work to do. The hubby and I are going to make time together for a few hours tomorrow though - the new Harry Potter movie and sushi after. I can hardly wait!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

DeNami Product Spotlight: Small Grapes

For my CR84FN card, click HERE.

Wanna see what fabulousness is waiting in the DeNami Product spotlight?!?! Of course you do :)

So cute! Perfect for a gift embellishment, card or any number of applications!

I used the following DeNami Products on this card;

I LOVE this eggplant textured cardstock from DeNami!!! Such a deep, rich color… I stamped the whimsical oval frame on white cardstock and cut it out using scissors. I stamped one bunch of grapes, masked them then stamped the others to create a little cluster. The grapes are colored with the Lavender Spica glitter pen and the leaves were given a bit of color using a G40 Copic marker. I used the honeydew bakers twine and eyelets to create a little tag.

Papertrey July Blog Hop

For my CR84FN post, click HERE.

Time for the July Papertrey Blog Hop! Another month come and gone… wow.

This month we had another inspiration photo to work with…

I took my inspiration from the colors and the sweet little pillow with the butterflies.

I die cut the blooms and stitched through them randomly…it kills me not to make a straight line, I tell ya LOL! The background is from Modern Basics.

Sorry things have been quieter here on the ol' blogo. We are 5 weeks away from our big northern migration! And there's so much to do as you can imagine. I'll probably be a lot more sporadic with my posts for the next 6 weeks or so. I've got lots to round up and finish off at work, preparing for the new job, trying to keep our house clean enough to show, etc, etc. We've not had a lot of interest in the house sadly.  The market is S-L-O-W here. It's likely we won't sell it before we move. But we do have a rental lined up in Canada so at least we'll have a place to lay our heads when we get there :) I jokingly suggested to the hubby that we could keep our house here in TN as a vacation home… he didn't find the suggestion as funny as I did :)

Anyway, I'm trying not to stress too much about the things I have little control over (some days I'm better at it than others :)).

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! I appreciate your visits :) Happy hopping!

CR84FN #34 Refresher

It's week two of the CR84FN color challenge! Remember, we're running the challenges for two weeks until September.

Again, gotta give Mona's hubby, Scott, HUGE props for such inspirational photos!!!

Also remember to swing by and wish our sweet DT member, Heather, a Happy Birthday!!! It's her birthday this week and here's another celebratory card in her honor :)

I wanted to make a really fun card with these colors :) This sweet cupcake seemed to fit the bill! I stamped the cupcake "icing" onto sweet blush cardstock then added sprinkles of white enamel (this stuff is awesome - there's a link at the bottom of the post). The cupcake bottom was colored with Copics. I dug around our kitchen and found a wooden skewer (can you believe we don't own any tooth picks?!), colored it with Copics and adhered a banner, to mimic a cupcake topper. I think a tooth pick would have been better - I could have stuck it down through the top of the cupcake instead of behind it… next time...

Now I'm off to buy some tooth picks, among other things :)

Time for another CR84FN color challenge! Here is the gorgeous challenge graphic and the fabulous color combination :)

Mona's husband, Scott Pendleton, is the source of these GORGEOUS pics!!! WOWZAS! TONS of talent in that Pendleton family :)

Before I give you my take on these oh so fabulous colors, there's a birthday girl in our midst :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER!!!

It's our dear, sweet Heather's birthday during the second week of our challenge so please make sure to swing by and send her some birthday love!
And here's my card for Heather - Happy Birthday girlie!!!

I love to crochet flowers! I just wish I had more time; I'd crochet my little heart out :) The colors in the pic are a bit deceiving, the petals of the flowers are bright pink (they look a little red). Hope you like it Heather!

JUGS #93: Color it up!

Hey all!

Time to get "Juggy" with it :) Got a great color combo to share with you all!

So purdy!!!!

Wanna hear a funny story? Even though I picked these colors, I STRUGGLED with them :) Seriously. Sort of a paper crafting irony, if you will. But I overcame my craft-block, finally finding inspiration with a stamp set I haven't used in a while - In Bloom from PTI.

I stamped the smaller blossom from the set in smokey shadow ink on sweet blush cardstock. The white cardstock strip is embossed with text. While embossing the text, a nestie circle was also embossed into the cardstock. The doily is die cut from melon berry cardstock then a circle was cut from the center to expose the cardstock beneath over the previously made embossed circle.

Time for a close up :) Hopefully you can see the detail a little better on this pic.

Hope you find time to play along!!!

Wanna see what fabulousness is waiting in the DeNami Product spotlight?!?! Of course you do :)

Is this not a gorgeous flower?! It can be paper-pieced, colored or just used as an outline, you name it!

I used the following DeNami Products on this card;

Is this Hibiscus stamp not wonderfully versatile?! So many possibilities!

I was so inspired by my wonderful blog friend, Christina MacLaren from Sea Glass & Sentiments - she made THIS CARD a while ago and I pret-near fell on the floor!!! Not only is this gal THE nicest person, she is so darn TALENTED!

For my CASE of Christina's card, I spritzed Daffodil Glimmer Mist on the corner of cream cardstock (this color of Glimmer Mist was a 2008 limited edition and is out of stock at a lot of places). I couldn't achieve the same splatter effect (the mist was a bit too fine) so I manually added a few drops. Let me say this - I've got some learnin' to do in the random placement of buttons and other embellishments :) When you think about it, how hard can it be to do random?! Apparently, very. Random does not come naturally to me for sure!

Welcome to the July DeNami Blog Hop!!! This month's fabulous theme is…

Yay for layers!!! Although I love layers (I really do!), it's not something I do often (or particularly well for that matter :)). I am amazed by folks that can add layer upon layer of FABULOUSNESS!!!

I am your first stop on this month's blog hop :) If you do happen to get off track and need to find your way again (as has happened to me oh, so many times :)) you can just hop right on back to the DeNami Blog for the master list of hop participants. You'll want to stay on track… leaving a comment on every blog along the way (including the DeNami Blog) gives you a chance to win one of TWO $20 DeNami gift certificates!!!! Another $20 gift certificate will be given to a randomly chosen blog hop participant!

On to my layered creation.

The DeNami Products I used on this card are;

I just had to use a doily as one of my layers. Just. Had. To.

It seemed to work well with the delicious cupcake tower, YUM! I used Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry DP. Isn't it so cute?! I love Basic Grey DP, I actually own a few 6x6 pads. I'm hoarding it. I'm working through it… :)
Your next stop of the hop is the super sweet and talented, Paulina Nakamura! Can't wait to see what lovely layered creation she has in store! Happy Hopping!!!
