DeNami time!

Hey all!
Super quick post - still not enough hours in the day, I tell ya!

I've got a few cards to share using a few new products I got from DeNami Design!
The first is for the Play Date Cafe and WaltzingMouse sketch challenges.

I used DeNami Design's lovely Star Swirl tree for the main image - it was stamped in Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder. Isn't it just perfect?!?! The base for the tree is sparkly brown paper from DeNami - it is sooooo gorgeous IRL! The sentiment, Classic Seasons Greetings from DeNami, was stamped on soft stone cardstock from PTI and embossed in silver. I love the mix of fonts for this sentiment!!! The background stamp is from PTI's Background Basics: Christmas. The grey cardstock base and the brown ribbon are both from DeNami Designs. I topped it all off with a couple of die cut silver stars.

Here's a close up...

My CASE study inspiration came from the layout predominantly - check out the inspiration card HERE. I stamped DeNami's Ornaments stamp set  on white cardstock, also from DeNami, and gold embossed them. They're so cute and whimsical :) I paired it with PTI's Big and Bold Holiday Wishes. The top portion of the white cardstock is embossed with the polka dots IP from PTI. The gold ribbon is from Paper Temptress and the red cardstock on the base and scalloped circle are from DeNami.
A closer look at the embossing...

That's it for now! Thanks so much for stopping by!

3D Holiday Embellishment - JUGS 61

Hidy Ho!!! Time for a new Just Us Girls 3D challenge! Our talented hostess, Kristin is challenging us to make a project with a 3D holiday embellishment :)

I altered a kraft paper bag for my project.

I stamped the background in Hawaiian shores and scarlet jewel ink. The DP is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey. I matched it with sweet blush and simply chartreuse cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in scarlet jewel on vellum and placed it over top. To make it stand out a little more, I placed a die cut piece of kraft behind the vellum. I folded the top of the bag over, punched two holes and threaded aqua mist ribbon through.

My 3D embellie is this tree ornament I made from PTI felt cut with the Christmas Tree die. I stitched it with brown embroidery thread - I think it looks a bit like a Franken-tree - LOL!!! But it's kinda cute I guess :) Attach a few buttons and a little bow at the top and Voila!

This is such a fun challenge! I can't wait to see what folks come up with for their 3D embellie!!!!

If you already haven't, see the JUGS site for all the challenge deets. Don't forget to swing by the blogs of the other JUGS DT gals and show them a little love :)

Thanks so much for playing along with Just Us Girls - we love seeing your creations and always appreciate your support!

    Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

I'm so happy I found time to play along with the Papertrey Blog Hop!

    The challenge this month;

    TAG TIME
Recently the design team and I put together a variety of holiday tags that are perfect to keep on hand
for quick wrap options.  Now it's your turn to inspire us and the rest of the Papertrey community!  Design
a holiday tag or two using all of your favorite goodies and share it with all of us!  We will all have plenty
of inspiration to create a large stash and try to get ahead of the hustle and bustle of the season!

    Here's my tag;

Aren't those bells just too darn cute?!

It's a bit hard to appreciate in the picture but the music sheet background is gold embossed.

Here's the inside. I stamped the musical bars in Chai ink so it would be light enough to write over.

I had so many ideas for this blog hop but little time to execute them :( I made a few these little tags but forgot to take a picture of the grouping. I've got some more half completed tags that I'll finish and share later.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! I appreciate your visits :) Happy hopping!

    Merry and bright

Just scroll down for my JUGS post :)

Quick post - the hubby and I have been running around. Like many folks, we have plans this weekend and are heading out of town. So lots to do before we fly (ugh, flying at Thanksgiving...) out.
I did find a few crafty hours tonight - here's a card I made for a couple of challenges; CASE Study and Play Date Cafe.

Not sure how I feel about this card - I think the sentiment gets lost in the large white area :( I wish I'd stamped it in a darker color or picked a different sentiment.

Hope the beginning of your week is going well!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

    Color challenge: JUGS #60

Aren't those just fabulous colors?!?! That's what lovely Lisa's picked out for this week's Just Us Girls challenge!
And WOOHOO JUGS!!!! We've reached 700 followers!!! WOW!!! We're so happy and thankful for so many wonderful followers that we're offering up a JustRite stamp set and a Spellbinders Impressability to  one lucky participant this week! We appreciate you all so much :)

Here's my take on the color challenge. I'm in Christmas card mode I worked mine into a seasonal card, although these colors are fabulous for any occasion.

I substituted gold for my dark yellow. I used my new Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers set from PTI and it is fabulous!!!

I used a bit of shiny gold string to tie a label to the jar. Simple and cute :)

If you already haven't, see the JUGS site for all the challenge deets. Don't forget to swing by the blogs of the other JUGS DT gals and show them a little love :)

      Purple life: CR84FN 4

I'm playing along with CR84FN again! This week, the lovely and talented Mona has a scrumptious color selection!

I love many different colors but I adore PURPLE :) The quote in Mona's graphic is so true. Purple IS magnificent, after all :)

I kept envisioning PTI's Life stamp set when I saw this color combo. I didn't have a sentiment in mind but the CAS format seemed to be good for a sympathy card. I didn't have a nice, intermediate grey (I did use a light grey for the base and sentiment layers) but at least I stamped the sentiment in grey :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

      Wreath of best wishes

Click HERE or scroll down for my JUGS post

What a gorgeous day! I got to take the dogs outside for a run, which Spencer loved! 6 weeks of restricted activity has unleashed his inner puppy :) It's good to see him like that, really good :)
After a productive morning of cleaning the house, I figured I owed myself a little time in the craftroom - I mean, I've got to be fair to myself right? ;) He, He :)
I made a little card for Laura's sketch using the colourQ challenge colors

I know every time I post, it seems I'm in love with something I'm using but it's really true this time. I LOVE the Wreath for All Seasons set from PTI. What a great, CAS, versatile set. I made a window in the front of the card and stamped my wreath on the inside. The berries are stamped in terra cotta tile - I made them pop a little more using a few drops of Glossy Accents. A close up of the wreath....

That's it for now. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Gate fold card - JUGS #59

Wanna play with JUGS? *Tee Hee*

OK, now that I've got that out of my system (simple things amuse simple minds :)), the JUGS to which I am referring is Just Us Girls and Kathryn's got a brand new technique for you to try!
Your challenge this week, should you choose to accept it :), is to make a gate fold card! They're really easy to make and are such a nice way to change up the routine card style.

I used colors from Mona's latest CR84FN Challenge. I absolutely LOVE these colors! And they make a wonderful non-traditional Christmas color palette ;)

Here's the inside of my gate fold card...

I chose a metal embellishment to create a belt of ribbon to keep my card closed. I was super excited when I actually saw this little embellie in my stash! So cute! I went against my symmetry-lovin' nature and positioned the tree off to the side to make room for the belt buckle. I think the buckle and the sentiment balance it out a bit though and was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out :)

By the way, thanks so much for all the well wishes! I'm feeling SOOO much better. And Spencer, my bandage-wearin' Golden, is no long bandaged! He's healed completely - a bit of a scar and some reduced range of motion but hopefully nothing a bit of physical therapy can't make a bit better :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

      I really dislike being sick

I often forget that with this gorgeous, utterly pleasant time of year is accompanied by an unpleasant cohort - cold and flu season. Yep, I have managed to find a virus that has set up shop and called me home. Yuck. I'm in a bit of a fog but I'll do my best to stay coherent :)

To distract me while my cold medications kick in, I'll share a bright and cheery card I made this weekend. I'm playing along with the latest lovely Curtain Call Color Challenge using this week's awesome Waltzingmouse Sketch.

I made these cute little paper flowers using PTI's beautiful blooms III dies. I curled the petals by wrapping them around the metal part of an embossing tool. Wish I could say it was my idea :) I took the inspiration from Lisa Somerville with THIS absolutely fabulous card. I drew a square using a red Spica pen, leaving a small opening for the sentiment. Then I masked off the edges, stamped polka dots in versa mark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. A subtle, neat effect, seen a little better in the next photo.

This card also qualifies for Little Red Wagon challenge, which is to use 3 of something on your card.

That's it for me. My Nyquil is kicking innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.......... :)

Have a good one! Thanks so much for stopping by!

      Polka Dot Leaves

For my JUGS post, click HERE :)

The ColourQ challenge this week has some mojo-licious colors this week :)

      This card also applies for the following challenges;
Cupcake craft challenges - thank you with autumn colors
      Creative cottage - embossing

I used the smallest leaf from PTI's leaf prints dies to cut three leaves from a sheet of white cardstock. Then I stamped a piece of pure poppy, summer sunrise and terra cotta tile with polka dots and clear embossed them to place behind the die cuts. I dry embossed the white cardstock with my new favorite diamond impression plate from PTI - I cannot put this thing down.... seriously. I've tried... I simply can't :) Another new love - I recently purchased a set of small Sizzix tag dies on sale at Joanne's (it looks like they may be retired based on my search online). They're great because each tag has two sizes so you can make a perfectly matted tag easily!
Since I make a lot of cards with white bases, I FINALLY got a black background for my photo tent! I think it sets off the card much better - what do you think? I actually got blue and grey backgrounds as a part of the package so I'll play with them in the upcoming weeks.

Off to enjoy our Sunday! Have a good one! Thanks so much for stopping by!

       TTFN,

      Andrea
