December DeNami Blog Hop

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

Hope you are enjoying the December DeNami Blog Hop!

This month, the challenge was to make gift wrapping - what a great challenge!

You should have arrived here from Carol Hartery's wonderful blog.

If not, head on over to the DeNami Blog for the master list of hop participants.

You'll want to stay on track… leaving a comment on every blog along the way (including the DeNami Blog) gives you a chance to win one of THREE $20 DeNami gift certificates!!!! Another $20 gift certificate will be given to a randomly chosen blog hop participant! You have until December 12, 2011, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

Despite this being an awesome challenge, I don't have a lot of gifts to wrap this year. I've mostly got gift certificates to give with the exception of some. Plus, we're flying to a different province and airlines tend to frown upon wrapped gifts nowadays (for obvious reasons). So I stuck to tags - they are definitely something I'll use though.

I was a little all-over-the-place with the tags, trying different things here and there. I did make a few similar tags…well, I'll let you see for yourself :)

For this tag, I used DeNami's medium lacy flake and stamped it on the iridescent blue card stock for some "shimmah". Then I put the sentiment across the top, leaving room to write the "to" and "from".

For the next tag, I broke out my much neglected Distress Inks. I stamped the Medium Lacy Flake (yup, again - I seriously LOVE this stamp!) and embossed it in white. Then I went to town with Concord Grape Distress Ink. To top it off, I stamped the sentiment in turquoise ink on vellum, and stitched it to the tag. I really like how this turned out :) Oh yeah, often when I use Distress Inks, the backs of things that I distress tend to get quite messy so I cover the back with a post-it to keep it clean. Worked like a charm :) Now the back can be used for writing!

Now for the similar tags...

For this one, I used DeNami's Ornaments Stamp set….

…for this one I used DeNami's Star Swirl….

…DeNami's Ornaments again…

…and finally, my fav, the Medium Lacy Flake ;)  Don't you love the ribbon treatment? The inspiration came from my blog friend, Karen Baker - she made a tag for the May Arts blog HERE and I just LOVED it!!!

That's it from here:) Off to your next stop, which is the lovely, talented Amy Smidebush! Happy Hopping!!!

DeNami August Blog Hop: Mini Cards

For my CR84FN card, click HERE.
For my JUGS card, click HERE.

Hope you are enjoying the August DeNami Blog Hop!

This month's most excellent theme is…

Time to go small or stay home LOL!

You should have arrived here from Pattie Goldman's fabulous blog.

If not, head on over to the DeNami Blog for the master list of hop participants. You'll want to stay on track… leaving a comment on every blog along the way (including the DeNami Blog) gives you a chance to win one of TWO $20 DeNami gift certificates!!!! Another $20 gift certificate will be given to a randomly chosen blog hop participant!

I went a little crazy with the minis ;)

First up, I made a cute little set of Christmas themed cards. I used the following DeNami products;

These cards measure 4.25 x 4.25".  I used Spellbinders Create a Flake 2 dies to make a negative die cut in the white carsdtock. On the base, I stamped the Lacy Flake in Versamark, added some Judykins Sticky Stuff, heated it up then added glitter. The Judykins Sticky Stuff works SOOO much better for glitter that the glue pads IMHO.

Then I heat embossed each of the sentiments in silver. So cute!

The colors are awesome - love that textured cardstock!!!

I just kept on crafting in miniature :)

I saw a vellum envelope somewhere in my travels (gosh darn it if I forget right now). So I really wanted to make mini cards that fit in a vellum envelope. Here's a little tutorial…

I started with a 5 x 3.25" piece of vellum.

I dry embossed the vellum for a bit of texture. Then I scored at 1.5" from each side and 0.5" from the bottom.

Then use adhesive to adhere the flaps to one another and create the little envelope. I then took a circle punch to cut a little piece out of the top to make removal of the card easier.

Here's the little envie...

To make the card, I cut a piece of card stock at 5.5" and 1 ⅞" and scored in the middle.

I attached the entire envelope to a tag so that it can be attached to a gift. These would make really cute, reusable Christmas tags - you'd just have to replace the card inside the envelope.

And here are the finished products :)

Hope you enjoyed my blog hop offerings!

Your next stop of the hop is the talented, Debbie Marcinkiewicz!
I'm sure she has LOVELY mini treats whipped up for you!

Happy Hopping!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

To all my friends in blogland, Merry Christmas!!!! I hope you have time to enjoy special holiday festivities with family and friends!

We've had a wonderful Christmas Day so far - my MIL, FIL and BIL were able to join us here in TN for a fun, family-filled Christmas Day :) On top of that, this morning we video conferenced with my sister in PEI, Canada and my parents in NL, Canada. We all gathered round our respective trees and opened presents together! It was almost as good as being all together in one place :) Ain't technology grand?

Thought I'd stop in and share a few simple Christmas tags I made to place on gifts for coworkers. One of my sweet blog friends, Tanny, shared pics of cookies from Levain Bakery in NY. She found a copycat recipe for Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies - they looked soooo yummy on her blog that I had to give 'em a try for myself! I found a copycat recipe HERE and baked away. They turned out wonderfully - silly me, I didn't take a picture though! DOH! I made a few batches and packed them up for coworkers. They all seemed to enjoy them - thanks Tanny for the inspiration!

Merry Christmas all!!!

My newest addiction...

OMG!!! I had NO idea what I was missing!!!

Tags, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.... Well, perhaps I won't go into an entire sonnet. I made my first couple of tags and I can't stop! Sooooo much fun! I've even started putting together sets for folks :) But more on that later...

The tags I'm sharing tonight are for the Embellish Color Challenge. The images are from PTI's Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers.

The tags were cut with my cricut (Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cart). I alternated Simply Chartreuse and Sweet blush on the base (the stamp is from Background Basics: Tin Type). I saw Laurie use this awesome ribbon tying technique that she had seen on Maile Belles site - so fantastic! I left some long string in the back to attach the tag to a package.

*SWOON*... I can't wait to make more tags. The possibilities are just endless. Note to self, must join self help group for such addictions... :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! TTFN,

Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

I'm so happy I found time to play along with the Papertrey Blog Hop!

The challenge this month;

TAG TIME
Recently the design team and I put together a variety of holiday tags that are perfect to keep on hand
for quick wrap options.  Now it's your turn to inspire us and the rest of the Papertrey community!  Design
a holiday tag or two using all of your favorite goodies and share it with all of us!  We will all have plenty
of inspiration to create a large stash and try to get ahead of the hustle and bustle of the season!

Here's my tag;

Aren't those bells just too darn cute?!

It's a bit hard to appreciate in the picture but the music sheet background is gold embossed.

Here's the inside. I stamped the musical bars in Chai ink so it would be light enough to write over.

I had so many ideas for this blog hop but little time to execute them :( I made a few these little tags but forgot to take a picture of the grouping. I've got some more half completed tags that I'll finish and share later.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! I appreciate your visits :) Happy hopping!
