Just Us Girls #174: Sketch Challenge

Wow. Over two weeks since I posted last...where does the time go?

I had aspirations of returning more to blogging in the new year.

Epic. Fail.

Well, I'll give myself a little break. Our new boy Parker (affectionately known as "Parker-pants", seen below) has been occupying more of my free time. In good ways, I might add. I've been outside more, despite the freezing cold, walking our lovely man. He has so much energy, I've also been arranging play dates with other friends who have dogs that can wear him down :) It's been a blast watching him play with other dogs - I've missed the "joie de vivre" that dogs have. Seeing him run and play is such a wonderful reminder - it really is the simple things in life.

Anywho, on to the newest Just Us Girls Challenge - a sketch hosted by our wonderful Vicki!

I took this beauty of a sketch and flipped it on it's side...

...and in the place of the ribbon tails, I placed my sentiment. The die cut is from my Silhouette Cameo - the floral circle was a Friday Freebie from A Little Hut. I just welded two rectangles to either side to create the band. I had a much more elaborate card planned (and started) but it just wasn't coming together. So back to basics I went.

I have to say, I really am loving the Cameo. It is versatile and pretty straightforward to use. Plus it works with my Mac seamlessly. Bonus.

Don't forget to swing by the JUGS blog to see what the other talented ladies have come up with! Their links are also in my sidebar.

So now on to pictures of "Parker-pants". Sadly, he didn't escape my nickname fetish...I always come up with some creative ones for my pets. Please feel free to skip this part if your pressed for time :)

Here he is playing with one of his most favourite friends, Quid (Parker's the golden retriever). These two just love each other and it's so fun to watch them play :)

Love this next picture - he loves to run :)

Here he's demonstrating his versatility...and by versatility I mean he goes from running like a madman to curling up on the couch. So darn cute though!

That's it from here. Hope your having a great weekend :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

DeNami Color Challenge

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

It's DeNami challenge time! This time around, it's a color challenge and Wendy's picked out such an elegant, classic combo...

And here's what I came up with...

I used DeNami's large hibiscus stamp - I love that big, beautiful image (just so you know, they also have the hibiscus in other sizes too :)). I used grey card stock as the base and stamped the hibiscus using white acrylic paint. I stamped another hibiscus in black on white card stock,  colored it with yellow pastel, cut it out and popped it up on a strip of white card stock. Then I finished it off with one of my fav sentiments.

Make sure to pop by the DeNami blog and check out what the rest of the incredible DT has to share :)

CR84FN #55

Time for a new CR84FN challenge!!! Hope all my US peeps are having a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. In Canada, our long weekend (Victoria Day) was last week.

These colors are AMAZING!!!

A while back, I saw a picture of beautiful, purple roses.

That was the effect I was going for with this card. Perhaps I could have gone slightly darker with the purple on the rose but I do like the color when all is said and done.

Hope you'll swing by the CR84FN blog to check out the fantastic samples by the talented DT!

Time for another round of amazing colors for the CR84FN challenge!

I had so many ideas for this color combo. They're so lovely - just gets the creative juices a'flowing.

I stamped and embossed the flowers from PTI's Summer Jar Fillers. Then I sponged around the flowers with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink (it's a bit easier to see in real life). The flowers are colored with one of my favorite, can't-do-with-out-it, kinda items - my white gel pen. The flower centers and leaves are colored with Copics. The butterfly and sentiment are from Happy Trails (PTI - stamps and dies).

Hope you like it! Make sure to swing by and check out our sweet CR84FN DT - they've always got AMAZING eye candy and inspiration for all.

DeNami Product Spotlight: Large Spring Basket

A-tisket… a-tasket…. a brand new DeNami Product Spotlight!

It's a large spring basket!!! And this lovely big basket can hold a lot of goodies. Don't forget, this awesome spring stamp is 10% off for one week!!!

I paired my basket with DeNami's Hydrangea Cluster. I added Thanks a Bunch as my sentiment - it seemed to go along with the hydrangea cluster. The basket was stamped on patterned paper and cut out. Then I stamped, colored and fussy cut the hydrangeas. I made a few extra cuts around the leaves of a few of the flowers to wrap around the basket a bit. Hope you like my cute little flower basket :)

Time for a new CR84FN challenge

Before introducing this week's colors, we have a CR84FN update.  On a gloomier note, after this challenge, our teammate and friend, Stephanie Kraft, will be stepping down from the CR84FN DT :( We are so very sad to see you go Stephanie but you can be sure we'll be stopping by to say hi and view your always inspiring, beautiful creations! Stephanie has been an incredible, supportive teammate and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors! Please take a moment to swing by Stephanie's blog and leave some love.

How about these stunning colors?! Just cheers me looking at them.

Here's what I came up with for week one of these colors;

The daisies just make me happy too - can't help but smile when I look at them. The daisies are made from Bloom Builders #3 die from Papertrey Ink. The base for the flowers and leaves is a Mega Mat Stack die from PTI. Finally, the yellow card base was dry embossed with a woodgrain embossing plate.

Please take a moment to stop by and visit the other CR84FN gals - leave 'em a bit o' love too :)

DeNami Color Challenge

For my CR84FN post, click HERE.
For my JUGS post, click HERE.

Hi all! Happy Monday!

Our super talented Emily has the most beautiful, winter-ending color combo for the latest DeNami Challenge

Aren't they purdy?!

For my card, I decided to go with the fabulous Spring Flowers, Garden Flowers and Garden Flowers Accessories from DeNami's latest release. And let me tell you, the clings from the new release are awesome!

The magenta is hard to see in my card, but it's on the edge of the pink blossoms. I stamped one of the pots from the Garden Flowers Accessories set and masked it, stamping another one on top. Then I stamped the little flowers in each one of the pots. Finally, I colored the images with Copics and stamped Get Well Soon (also from the new release).

Make sure to see what the other fabulous DeNami DT members have in store!

Week number two of the CR84FN #46 challenge

These colors are so beautiful and SPRING-Y! So much so that the flowers practically stamped themselves :)

I repeatedly stamped poppies in yellow and pink - then used a simple but beautiful sentiment. I thought it complimented the fun, bright nature of the card. Hopefully it'll make a good friend smile someday soon ;)

Hey all! Welcome back for a new installment of CR84FN challenge colors :)

Aren't these colors STUNNING!!! I was so excited to tackle them!

I decided to ink up a good ol' standby, my Turning a New Leaf stamps. I added a few blooms from the Flower Fusion series to bring in the colors.
