Wedding rose

To see my JUGS post, click HERE or scroll down :)

The colors are from one of two color inspirations provided by ColourQ this week - in honor of breast cancer awareness month. What a great reason to get inky :) After deciding on the Mojo Monday sketch and looking at the colors, I decided I would make a wedding card.

I colored the rose with Copics (R30, R32, R43) - I really like how soft and pretty it turned out. The seam binding also had the Copic treatment (R43) - man, these markers are versatile! Love 'em!!!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Play Date with Mojo

Evening all!
First off I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes - you all made it extra special! I want to say a special thanks to my fellow Just Us Girls DT members and my very sweet friend Tanny P - you guys are the absolute best!!!

I had a great day - Tracy and I went out for brunch as it was a beautiful day and I wanted to sit outside. We had a great time - good food, great company, gorgeous weather, fun people watching - it was totally pleasant and relaxing. The afternoon we spent outside at home gardening and then I got to craft a little in the evening - after a really stressful week, it was so utterly relaxing! Just what I needed :) Thanks to my sweet, sweet husband for my awesome, relaxing birthday weekend!
As part of my birthday gift, Tracy also gave me a long awaited gift - a photo tent! I've been playing with a few exposures tonight, getting the swing of things. I'll have to pick up a few props to showcase my card. Yay! another excuse to shop :)

Now, onto my project... Boy, it's been a while since I've played along with a Mojo Monday sketch. No better time than the present, right? I used the Play Date Cafe color challenge for inspiration.

I didn't have a really light peach color unfortunately, so my peaches are a little on the darker side. I also got my hands on some of that awesome seam binding!!!  Hope you like it :)

****Also, you may want to check out THIS POST - I'm giving away BLOG CANDY  for another few days!****

Happy Easter!

Hi ya!
I'm sharing a card for Pile It On Challenge #13 - make an easel card. Not only are easels fun to make but the awesome layout is sure to impress any recipient :) The sponsor of this week's challenge is...

So be sure to swing on by and play along with us at Pile It On!
On that note, here's my sample;
Isn't the image so darn cute?!?! It's a digi from Soft Pencil and I colored it with the following copic markers (click on the image to enlarge if you're having any trouble seeing the numbers);

The card applies for the following challenges;
I really adore the color combo - it's so different but fantastic. However, in putting it all together, there was a disconnect between my idea and reality- it just didn't come together as I'd like. Boo! I played with it for hours and am still disappointed... Ah well. Sometimes things just don't work! I do love making easel cards though :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Are there awards for bad bloggers?

'Cause I think I could win one :) I can't believe it's been 6 days since my last post - where does the time go? The start of this month has been slow form me creatively. But, like everyone else, it's a-go, go, go in terms of other aspects. That beings said, I do LOVE this time of year so I really don't mind the hustle and bustle :)
I had time this evening to head to the ol' craft room. And, boy, did I make use of it. Got glue on my fingers and I'm COVERED in glitter from all the furious crafting :) Fun, fun, fun! So hold on tight 'cause I have a few projects to share tonight.
The first card I'm sharing is for Mojo Monday #116. I wasn't sure if I'd get to this one or not but, yay, I managed to fit it in!

I think it tuned out ok but it's a far busier card than I normally create. There's lots going on :) If I had it to do over again, I'd likely tone down the guide lines background for something a bit simpler given all the other patterns I have on here. I did use one of my fav seasonal color combos - raspberry fizz and new leaf (Papertrey Ink). I also used vintage cream and spring moss. The poinsettia is from the Papertrey Ink Peaceful Poinsettia set - I stamped it on some DP from DCWAV several times, cut them out and layered with dimensionals. The guidelines background would have been pretty all on it's own without the stuff over top. Ya live, ya learn...

I used the sweet snow angel Henry stamp (see THIS POST for details about the Henry stamp) - I absolutely adore this image! I colored him with copics and added some Martha Stewart clear glitter to the snow. The colors are from Papertrey Ink and are white, spring rain, lavender moon, and plum pudding. The snowflake was stamped with ColorBox blue pigment ink.
The final project is for Crazy for Challenges - I'm down to the wire on that challenge :) The challenge this week was to create gift card packaging. Here's what I came up with...

It's a gift card holder for a baby (thank you, captain obvious :)). Something not Christmas-y. Cardstock is from Papertrey Ink (Kraft, lemon tart) and the DP is from DCWAV. The stamp set is bitty baby blessings from Papertrey Ink.
Whew! Hopefully I'll have a few more projects to share tomorrow or Sunday. I also have some gift boxes I made for the folks at work - I'll share those too.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by! TGIF!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A very Happy Turkey Day to all you out there in blog-land. I hope today can be a day of reflection and of perspective - 'cause goodness knows it's easy to forget just how good you have it sometimes (and of course, by "you" I mean me :)). It's also a day of great food and, at least in our household, football.
Actually, we had planned to go to our neighbors for Thanksgiving. We don't have any family in town this year and we couldn't travel due to work commitments. Plus, as hard as I tried to stave off the virus my hubby was harboring, it seems to have found it's way to me. Just when I thought I might make it through. So we decided to spare our neighbors and sadly stay at home. Later this afternoon, they so kindly showed up at our door with plates of food for the "sickies" :) How fantastic are they?!?!? See, so much to be thankful for :) They've been so fabulous since we moved in a little over a year ago. We love them :)

It's been a couple of slow crafting days for me. I did manage to make a few quick cards but I'm not up to my best work - just feel like ideas are slow to come, among the other side effects of the cold and medications.
The first card is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

Not the most mojo-y card but hey.... I wanted to make it fairly frill-less. I had originally planned a masculine card, but now that I look at it, the dragonflies don't scream "male" :).
The next card is for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

I just got my PTI goodies (YEAH!!!) and with that came the new terracotta tile and guide lines II stamp set. *Gasp* I can't believe I'd waited this long to buy it! There are so many other sets I'd love to buy - but all in good time (at least a bit of restraint keeps my DH happy :)). So I used the new guide lines II and it was wonderful! I made a few small errors but I'm really looking forward to making this a "go to" set. Now have to ink up my turning a new leaf set.
Finally, I've got a couple of pics of our feline family members to share. It wasn't fair at all that the dogs get prime billing since the cats are a VERY important part of the family too. We love them just as much :) I'll be sure and put their cute little faces right next to the dogs on my side bar later.

The picture above is of the princess, Lilly, or "the bean" for short. "The bean" you ask? It went from Lilly to "liller bean" to "bean"... I love how pets names transition like that. Well, at least in our household :) But I would think there are a lot of people who have nicknames for their pets. Back to Lil - she does things on HER terms (like most cats) but she's mostly sweet :) Love that tortieshell personality!

And this little character is Jasmine, or "Ja Ja" or "Jub Jub". Wow, seems to flow off the tongue so naturally - when I write it, it just looks plain silly :) In this picture, she's helping me study. I had to write qualifying board exams 2 years ago and this was her way of "helping". You can see the binder of notes she's lying on and my laptop to the side -so she's right in the thick of things. The "attention breaks" were good for my sanity though :)

Anyway folks, I'm fading fast.... need more cold meds....congestion returning.  I really dislike colds.... I really hope you are all enjoying your Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

Thanks for stopping by!

I *heart* Friday!

There's just something about Friday night :) It's the promise of the weekend, knowing tomorrow is Saturday. 'Course when I was in college it meant a party night but 10 years later, my Friday nights are usually much more, shall we say, tame... It's comfortable :)
Anyway, I've got two cards to share. The first is for Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge #48. I altered the sketch to make it a A4 card (easier to mail :)).  I have this die cut paper from Creative Imaginations that paired well with aqua mist from PTI - it really made me think of a wedding or anniversary card. I'll apologize for the pictures in advance (I may try to take a few tomorrow and re-post them). The first picture is the most representative of the true colors....

Detail of the paper (sorry about the picture :( ... the card has a more yellowish tinge in this photo but the paper is actually Stampers Select White from PTI). I didn't have any aqua rhinestones so I just colored two white ones with a copic marker (BG18). I love copics - so versatile!

The next card is for Mojo Monday #113. I initially wasn't going to make a card to this particular sketch - it had a bit more layers than I normally feel comfortable with. I had this BasicGrey patterned paper that I got on sale - it was sorta fun and so I decided to give the sketch a go. I paired the DP with everyday button bits from Papertrey Ink.

So that's about it. I hope you all are enjoying your Friday night :)
Thanks for stopping by the blog-o :)

Mojo Monday #111

So we're recovering well from our break in - we had ADT install an security system so some of my lost sense of security is returning. All the animals are still doing well which is a HUGE relief. The rest is minor.
After our experience this week, I decided I needed some crafting therapy - I had started this card for Mojo Monday Week 111 last Monday when the sketch was released but it wasn't coming together. So I decided to make a few changes and finish it. I wanted to move on but I stuck with it - not my fav card but I think it turned out ok in the end.

I used some Christmas DP from DCWAV (trying to get rid of my stash). The image is from Papertrey ink's Vintage picnic set which was colored with my beloved copics :) The sentiment is from Just Rite Stampers Merry Little Christmas Borders & Centers Round 1-5/8”
So that's about it. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday evening. Thanks so much for stopping by! Oh yeah... there's another Just Us Girls challenge starting tomorrow - YEAH!!! Love those challenges. Please check it out if you haven't already :)

Brrr.....

Boy, it's wet and cold outside today. Rainy, chilly - the kind of day that makes you want to put on some warm clothes, thick fuzzy socks and curl up on the sofa in front of the tv. Hummm.... perhaps that's what I ended up doing after work :) Soooo comfy :)
Today, I've got a card for Mojo Monday Week 110. I used one of my favorite color combinations - chocolate and aqua. Holy moly, it took me FOR-EVER to put this card together. Despite having the sketch to guide me, I still managed to take 3 1/2 hours to make this one - and this wasn't the first attempt :) I still have the components of take #1 set aside, ready to put together. Just wasn't feeling that one - hopefully I can find a way to salvage it.

Hope everyone is having a super-d-duper week!
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek :)
