CR84FN #57

Check out the newest colors from CR84FN!!!

I just adore these colors! The bright pink is sooo pretty - it's become one of my favorite colors. I used to be a earth-tone kinda gal (and still am) but pink has begun to dominate my color palette.

For my card, I chose some graphic stripes. Then I used this beautiful daisy (made with dies from Papertrey Ink) to soften the stripes.

Hope you'll swing by the CR84FN blog to check out the fantastic samples by the talented DT!

DeNami Spotlight: Surfboard Trio

UGH. This post was supposed to go live 2 days ago! I am so sorry!!!

Time for a new DeNami Product Spotlight! This post also marks my last with DeNami as a designer :(
But first, the stamp in the spotlight…
It's a tropical, summer-fun stamp! The Surfboard trio is so so versatile.

I used one of my favorite techniques, the spotlight, to highlight this stamp. In addition to DeNami's Surfboard Trio, I also used "Hey chickie" to finish it off :)

Now to the sad part… I am so, so sad to see my term with DeNami Designs come to an end :( I want to take a moment and say a HUGE thank you to my friends and teammates at DeNami - what an incredible group of ladies!!! I will miss you all but will absolutely be checking in periodically. Paulina is AMAZING!!! DeNami is a fantastic company and she is the heart and soul :) Thank you Paulina for the incredible opportunity with DeNami! I will be forever grateful :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's DeNami Blog Hop time!

By now, you're well into hopping and you should have arrived here from the sweet and super talented Linda Monroe's blog.

If not, head on over to the DeNami Blog for the master list of hop participants.

You'll want to stay on track… leaving a comment on every blog along the way (including the DeNami Blog) gives you a chance to win one of TWO $20 DeNami gift certificates!!!! Another  $20 gift certificate will be given to a randomly chosen blog hop participant! You have until June 11, 2012, 11:59pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

I created a window in free card stock through which to display DeNami's Happy Father's Day. Before I adhered the card stock to the cream base, I scored vertical lines with my Scor Pal then used Cutter Bee Piercer to pierce the scores. I wanted a riveted-type look. I finished it off with three brads in the upper left corner.
That's it from here. Off to your next stop, which is the amazing Pattie Goldman

Happy Hopping!!!

JUGS #140: Acrylic distress technique

Technique time at Just Us Girls

Maria has picked out an amazing technique - acrylic distress. There's a wonderful tutorial HERE.

I haven't made many masculine cards lately and with Father's Day around the corner, this seemed like the perfect technique for a manly card. I embossed card stock with woodgrain then painted brown acrylic paint over top. After it dried, I sanded it down to expose the lighter color. I finished it off with a tree, oval and twine. What an awesome technique! Love the way it turned out :)

Make sure to swing by the JUGS blog to see what the rest of the DT and our amazing guest designer, Hannelie, have in store!

DeNami Product Spotlight: God Bless America

Time to get your patriotism on!

It's all about the red, white and blue with the stamp in the DeNami Product Spotlight!

How about that awesome sentiment to display your patriotic pride?! As a bonus, the stamp in the spotlight is 10% off for one week!!!

I got a little creative with pastels for this card. I used red and blue oil pastels to create old glory and gently smudged the edges to soften the look. Then I stamped a few stars using DeNami's Holiday Petit Four and white acrylic paint. The product spotlight stamp is inked in black. Then I matted the main image using red and navy card stock.

Make sure to see what the rest of the amazing DeNami DT have in store.

DeNami Color Challenge

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

It's DeNami challenge time! This time around, it's a color challenge and Wendy's picked out such an elegant, classic combo...

And here's what I came up with...

I used DeNami's large hibiscus stamp - I love that big, beautiful image (just so you know, they also have the hibiscus in other sizes too :)). I used grey card stock as the base and stamped the hibiscus using white acrylic paint. I stamped another hibiscus in black on white card stock,  colored it with yellow pastel, cut it out and popped it up on a strip of white card stock. Then I finished it off with one of my fav sentiments.

Make sure to pop by the DeNami blog and check out what the rest of the incredible DT has to share :)

Just Us Girls #139: Sketch Challenge

It's the weekend! That means time for another challenge over at Just Us Girls!

I'm hostessing this week and I've got a sketch that will hopefully tempt you to play along :)

I wanted to do a somewhat masculine birthday card - I'm not sure if the polka dots are masculine but at least the color scheme is :)

Hope you have a great weekend. Really hope you can play along!
