CR84FN #69

Welcome to a new CR84FN color challenge! It's a good 'un!

But before we move on to the gorgeous graphic, we have a new guest designer for the month of January! Please give a hearty CR84FN welcome to Lisa Snowdy!!! Welcome Lisa - we are so excited that you are joining us for the month!


Because there's a brand new year almost upon us, I wanted to make an exuberant card. Of course, it's CAS but hopefully joyful nonetheless :)



I used a brand new Christmas present to make the drops...my new Silhouette Cameo! I used to own a Cricut, but this machine is much better so far. The biggest plus...no cartridges! I can't wait to have some more fun with it. 

After I cut the drops, I embossed them with a damask Cuttlebug folder for a little texture then I affixed them to the base. Add a sentiment, et voila!

CR84FN #57

Check out the newest colors from CR84FN!!! 


I just adore these colors! The bright pink is sooo pretty - it's become one of my favorite colors. I used to be a earth-tone kinda gal (and still am) but pink has begun to dominate my color palette. 


For my card, I chose some graphic stripes. Then I used this beautiful daisy (made with dies from Papertrey Ink) to soften the stripes.

DeNami Color Challenge

It's DeNami challenge time! This time around, it's a color challenge and Wendy's picked out such an elegant, classic combo...


And here's what I came up with...


I used DeNami's large hibiscus stamp - I love that big, beautiful image (just so you know, they also have the hibiscus in other sizes too :)). I used grey card stock as the base and stamped the hibiscus using white acrylic paint. I stamped another hibiscus in black on white card stock,  colored it with yellow pastel, cut it out and popped it up on a strip of white card stock. Then I finished it off with one of my fav sentiments.

Week number two of the CR84FN #46 challenge! 


These colors are so beautiful and SPRING-Y! So much so that the flowers practically stamped themselves :) 


I repeatedly stamped poppies in yellow and pink - then used a simple but beautiful sentiment. I thought it complimented the fun, bright nature of the card. Hopefully it'll make a good friend smile someday soon ;)

JUGS #120: Color Challenge

How about a beautiful color challenge over at Just Us Girls? Take a look at the awesome colors chosen by our lovely Vicki...


I've had a hankering to make cards with white space recently. So my take on the JUGS color challenge is reflective of my need for "white" open spaces :)


Just a little something simple :) Three little pink and red hearts - the hearts are negative die cuts with pink card stock stamped with red polka dots in the background.

Hello all! You might notice that I've changed things up here on the ol' blog in honor of the new year. New look for a new year :)

Speaking of new, we're bringing you a brand new CR84FN challenge! 
***Just so you know, CR84FN 46 will be ending on Wed, Jan 25****


Now take a gander at these fabulous pastels...


So beautiful! Made me immediately think of spring. Don't you love that quote on the CR84FN graphic? Sigh, so true… yet so easy to forget sometimes.

I was inspired by the pattern on the pink bag on the graphic. I thought about doing a subtle damask pattern. Here's what I came up with...


CAS but I like it. I fought the urge to add more. The damask pattern was stamped with white pigment ink, that's it. I didn't emboss; I wanted it to look subtle. When you turn it in the light it definitely becomes more subtle. You can kind of see the difference in the next picture where I turned the card slightly to show the damask pattern.


For the sentiment, I actually printed this one on card stock. Sadly, no pretty stamp fonts like this one. Then I distressed the edges of the sentiment piece using scissors - in retrospect, I wish I'd torn it but it turned out ok nonetheless. Then a simple finishing ribbon treatment. Easy peasy :)

JUGS 120 - Collage Stamping

We've got a FUN technique challenge over at Just Us Girls! The sweet and talented Lynn is challenging you to try your hand at collage stamping! 


You can run amok with this particular technique - just go wild!

My tendency is to go with earth tones for this technique, not sure why. Browns, dark oranges, greens…they would just seem to work so well with layering of stamps. But as this is a challenge, I wanted to try a few fun colors and see if I could make them work for this technique :) 


I used the awesome color palette from colourQ this week. So pretty :)

DeNami Product Spotlight: Small Heart Outline

Time for a new DeNami Product Spotlight!!! 


In the spotlight this week, we have the cute and versatile small heart outline! Don't forget, the stamp in the product spotlight is 10% off for one week!!! 

So many options, so little time :)


I stamped the small heart outline 7 times, cut them out then stitched them in rows. I added the DeNami sentiment, "With all my heart" in the bottom right. Red and pink seem to be kinda hot together recently so I used magenta card stock for the base.
