JUGS #124: Color it UP!

Are you tired of drab ol' winter? Need color infusion? Well Dana's got a color combo over at Just Us Girls that'll put a "spring" in your step (get it? I'm so lame :)).

A bouquet of pastel loveliness!

Here's what my feeble mind came up with… (that's a whole other story, my mind is mush after several taxing weeks at work…Oy).

I've been really drawn to geometric designs lately. When I saw the inspiration graphic, the circles containing the colors just spoke to me. I pictured a bubbly, fun birthday card. And, happily, what I pictured managed to make it out in card form :) 'Cause sometimes what I see in my mind's eye gets lost in translation. And, BONUS, it's a one layer card. YAY! Dunno why, but I feel so satisfied after a one layer card. Gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling all ovah :)

Color Challenge: JUGS #102

Annnnd, I'm back :) Before I dive into this post, I want to take a minute to say a HUGE thank you for all the well-wishes during our big relocation process!!! The support was AMAZING - I can't tell you how much it means to me!! THANKS, friends!!! All in all, the process has been as painless as it could have been - our household stuff arrived via the movers 2 days after we landed; it was in really great shape too! That's definitely something to be thankful for :) We start work at our new jobs on Monday!!! Where has the time gone?!

So I'm back in the swing of things! Right in time for a brand new color challenge over at Just Us Girls hosted by our AMAZING Elise!

Such wonderful colors - they're just packed with crafty potential!!!

I am so happy to report that my hubby and I are pretty much settled in our new home. It's a rental but it's perfect (I'll take a few pics a little later and share with you all :)). To make things even better, my craft room is all set up!!! YAY!!!

This is the first card I've created in my brand new space…

I kept it pretty clean and simple (I know, a stretch for me, right… LOL!!!). I just ADORE these colors!! I had so many more ideas for them but needed just a few more hours in my day…

Anywho, I am so glad to be back crafting! It was great being in a craft room - it felt a bit weird as things are moved around a bit from my previous place, but it was cosy and familiar at the same time. I can see many an hour spent will be spent in this lovely retreat! Hopefully I remembered to unpack my mojo!!!

Back to my lovely JUGheads - make sure to see what the fabulous JUGS gals have for you this week!!!

Howdy all! Happy weekend!

Ready for week two of the CR84FN #37 color challenge?!

The photos in the gorgeous inspiration graphic come from Martha Stewart.

I love these colors, so fresh and clean.

I was inspired by a super beautiful card of Kasia's (HERE)! Such a stunning layout - I had to CASE it ;)

I don't do a whole lot with tone on tone but white-on-white just makes such a striking card. Pretty clean and simple here :)

CR84FN #37

Howdy all! Happy weekend!

Ready for all new CR84FN #37 color inspiration?!

When I saw these colors, for some reason I wanted to stamp the turquoise onto the blue… dunno why. Just call it an inspirational urge :) I figured the best way to do that was with my highly underutilized Perfect Pearls!

From a distance or in the wrong light, the card is a little lacking on the turquoise - but when the light hits it just right, such a pretty turquoise, wouldn't you say? I didn't take any step-by-step pics sadly, but I can tell you that I stamped the medallions in versamark then brushed on turquoise Perfect Pearls (in the Pastels set). Now if it is left just so, the lovely shimmeriness would brush off with every touch - so I set my water mister to a fine mist and spritzed the card stock lightly to set the Perfect Pearls. Then I stamped my sentiment and added a few rhinestones for a little extra turquoise :) I think I'm going to keep this card in mind anytime I need to mass-produce; so easy and pretty :) Mmmmmm, sparkly… ;)
