JUGS #101 and a WINNER!!!

Whew! What a week! One week ago, were en route to MA from VA as part of our move from Knoxville, TN to PEI, Canada.

Our stuff made it on Wednesday, safe and sound :) Woo HOO!!! My craft room is still in boxes - we had to prioritize and get a few other rooms set up first - the hubby thought eating and sleeping might be more important, LOL!

The hardest part was being completely disconnected with the exception of 30 min to 1 hr windows of internets access gleaned at the local Starbucks or my sisters house. I can't access the internet with my US cellphone (the data download charges are outrageous!!!) and I can't get a Canadian cell just yet. We finally just got internet at the house late Friday afternoon.

It is AMAZING how dependent I have become on the internet and being "connected"… it's madness to be that dependent. We had to use *GASP* the phone book!!!! What about you? Is it hard to remember how you lived without a smart phone or the internet?

Well, on to the winner of my blog candy from the JUGS 100th Challenge Celebration!!!

The winner is…..

#13 - Cheri!!!!

Congrats Cheri!!! Please email me (the link to my email is on the upper right of my blog - a little, grey envelope) with your email and snail mail address :) Thanks to all of you who played along in our big celebration!!!

Even though I am unable to play along, I just wanted to let you know about the latest JUGS challenge - this week, your challenge is to use sentiment stamps to create a background or focal point!!! FUN!! Man, am I sore that I'm missing out! Perhaps if we can unpack my craft room, I can make something a little early in the week, fingers crossed!!!

Make sure to see what the fabulous JUGS gals have for you this week!!!

WOW, things have been busy lately. I'm sure I'm definitely not the only one who'd love just a few more hours in every day :)

Sadly, I even missed my 2nd blogiversary :( It was on June 1st. But that won't stop me from what I had planned :)

I wanted to say a HUGE thanks to all you wonderful folks in blogland for all the fantastic support and comments! I'm sure many of you know what I mean when I say, it REALLY means so much!!! Seriously, I love reading all of your wonderful comments and visiting blogs to see all of your inspiring creations! At the end of a tough day, or even when I'm feeling low, I can count on a huge pick-me-up just from comments. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving!!!
This really is a wonderful hobby that gives me so much more than just a way to use my time. I've made so many connections with the most beautiful people and I am so grateful!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So in honor of my blogiversary (as well as my birthday, which is today :)) and the fact that I am so grateful for YOU ALL, I'd like to offer up a little bit o' blog candy!!!

What is this blog candy you ask?

A $25 gift certificate to a stamp company of your choice!

For a chance to win this blog candy, just leave a comment at the end of this post telling me what you love most about this hobby of ours. That's it (1 comment per person, pulease:)). I'll let it run for a week and choose a random winner from all the commenters on Monday, June 13 (the comments will close by noon on June 13 and I'll announce the winner in the evening). One other thing, if you end up the lucky winner, it would probably work best if the company you choose allows to send the gift certificate digitally. That way I can have it in your hands ASAP :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's a little card wishing you all Sunny Days!

So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Howdy friends!
I've got two reasons to celebrate - my birthday is right around the corner and my first year blogiversary was June 1st! I can't believe it's been a year already - I guess time flies when you're having fun :)

To celebrate and to show a little appreciation to all my blogging friends, I'm offering up some BlOg CaNdY!!!
The blog candy includes;
All you have to do to qualify for the blog candy is leave a comment here on this post on or before Thursday, June 10, 2010. I'll randomly select one winner on Friday. Only one comment per person please :)

Here at home, we've got a long awaited deck remodel happening. I CANNOT wait! Here's what our deck looks like now..

It's nice but this picture was taken in the evening when there's a little shade. Most of the day, it gets direct sunlight which means it gets HOT!!! My Canadian blood can't handle it :) So our new deck will have a screened-portion and a smaller, unscreened area for grilling, etc. I can't wait to be able to sit outside more! Even nicer still, the trees you see in the picture will be unharmed. Some of the bushes to the right of the existing deck may need to be moved, but it will be minimal. Sweet!
Here's day 1 - deconstruction....

Here's day 3 - getting framed...

I'm so darn excited :)

We also got our garden up and running (a couple of weeks ago now) - our first attempt at gardening :) Our next door neighbour is a landscaper and all-around-awesome plant guy and is sharing the garden with us in exchange for his knowledge and green thumb :) Here's Tracy getting the tomato plants all set up...

I LOVE homegrown tomatoes and am SO looking forward to tomato-y goodness :) We've also got green peppers, zucchini, squash, and cucumber - if they all continue to grow ok :) We got a bit of a late start and sadly didn't get lettuce in the ground in time.

Sorry for the long post - LOL! Just thought I'd share! Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment for the blog candy (if you haven't forgotten about the blog candy by the time you got to the end of my loooooong post :))!
