Wedding rose

To see my JUGS post, click HERE or scroll down :)

The colors are from one of two color inspirations provided by ColourQ this week - in honor of breast cancer awareness month. What a great reason to get inky :) After deciding on the Mojo Monday sketch and looking at the colors, I decided I would make a wedding card.

I colored the rose with Copics (R30, R32, R43) - I really like how soft and pretty it turned out. The seam binding also had the Copic treatment (R43) - man, these markers are versatile! Love 'em!!!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pile It On

Welcome friends!
It's time for another challenge at Pile It On! The challenge is to create a project using colors suited for boys. There have been a few changes over at PIO - there's a whole new fantastic look with cute little birds and trees and we've added a few new DT members as we sadly say good bye to a few others. The following ladies have decided to step down -Ann, Audrey, Dee, Jennifer, Jennifer B, Linda, Sam, Sammye Jo, and Tanja. Good luck in all your future endeavors gals! We'll miss ya and your talented creations :)

We welcome a few new super talented DT members - Patricia, Arianne, Neli, Deanne, Debbie, Helen, Nana, Yvonne, Anna, Melinda and Illy. So glad you can join us. Looking forward to working with you!

This week, the sponsor is In Style Stamps....

Head on over and check out their store! Many lovely stamps (digi and rubber) as well as paper - all on a very cute website.

Here's my card...

The stamp is "Nathan" from In Style's anime digi stamp collection. He's so cute! Perfect for a boy's birthday card. I printed a larger version of the soccer ball, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals to make it look more 3D.
The sketch I used is from Waltzing Mouse (however, I realized a bit too late that that challenge has closed *sniff*). But the sketch is wonderful nonetheless.

The challenges this card qualifies for are;
Pile it On - Boyish Colors
Cards for Men - monochromatic
Digi Doodle Shop - anything goes
SophistiCat - card for a child
Spoon Full of Sugar - 3D something
Belli Challenge Blog - birthday card

Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Origami

As part of this month's release, Papertrey is having another contest. This time Nichole has challenged folks to make a project incorporating origami. Nichole references a few great origami sites on her blog; there are gift boxes, animals, foods and even hearts :) After perusing, I decided to go with a strawberry from Origami Club. Its got a ton of fun projects, all rated based on difficulty. Best part is, a lot are two dimensional, which makes them great for cards :) I have done a lot of seasonal cards lately so I just wanted to do something different and fun.

All products are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise stated.

The strawberry literally took 5 minutes - I started with a 6x6 piece of red paper from my stash (DCWAV). I added the "seeds" with a W9 copic marker (I thought about using my polka dot background stamp set after the fact, of course :)). I colored the leaves on the strawberry with copics (YG93, YG95, YG97). The leaves, from In Bloom were stamped on kraft cardstock with white pigment ink, heat embossed and colored with YG93, YG95, YG97. I used a white gel pen to draw a box and add an accent to the berry. I topped it off with three pure poppy buttons. The card base is ripe avocado and the sentiment, which was stamped in white pigment ink then heat embossed, is from Cupcake Collection.

On a fun note, my card from this post was acknowledged over at Just Buggin' as one of the top 3 picks!
How fun is that! It's a great challenge site - especially since it inspires me to use my cricut more :) Check it out!

Off to bed. Busy day tomorrow in preparation for my 3 week trip to Canada for work. My sister lives in the area so I get to visit with her plus I've got a lot of visits with friends planned, which is so exciting.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Life is ruff....

Not really - just a good segue into my project:)  Life's been pretty darn good to me and I completely acknowledge that fact. Yep, I'm one lucky girl :)
Tonight I've got a card for the latest Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge

Pretty simple and not too many frills :) The main image is called "Doggie Pile" (Squigglefly) - ain't it cute?!?!

I colored those cuties with the following Copics;
The patterned papers are from DCWV and the cardstocks are Ocean Tides (PTI) and Kraft (PTI). The tag was cut with my cricut (tags, bags, boxes and more cartridge) and the sentiment is from an Inkadinkadoo set. Rustic twine and a dark chocolate button finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Bundle of joy and another challenge

Well, the fitness quest is going fairly well. It slowed down a bit when I hurt my back; however, walking on the treadmill and stretching helped tremendously. Now may back is pretty much better. Even had a workout with my trainer this am. So far I've lost 15 lbs, which I'm thrilled about. The weight loss will be good for my back too :) There's another challenge on Dawn McVey's website; Another delish color combo - don'tcha think? Don't know bout you all but the colors made me think of a new baby girl card. I got to ink up my recently purchased bitty baby blessings and faux ribbon from PTI. I also got to use my copics, which always makes for a good time :) Here's my take; Hope everyone is having a great week. As always, thanks for stopping by! TTFN, ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more ------------------------------------- Ingredients (all PTI unless otherwise stated): Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings, Faux Ribbon, Around and About Sentiments, Polka Dot Basics Ink: Hibiscus burst, melon berry, spring moss, versamark Paper: Hibiscus burst, melon berry, spring moss, vintage cream Other: Melon berry ribbon, melon berry buttons, nestabilities, paper piercer, Copics

My poor back...

I'm off work today - my back decided to give out yesterday - with little prompting, I might add. It's a bit better today but still quite sore. I guess it could be much worse so I'm done complaining... It's time to create again! Yep, Lauren Meader has another challenge on her blog --> My Time to Create #5. My card was created a day ago, prior to my back giving out. I had my husband take a few pics and hand me the camera for uploading :) He's such a wonderful guy :) For some reason I had a lot of trouble with this challenge... just getting the color combo to work. I must have colored 6 of the images trying to come up with a combo liked. I guess that's why it's called a challenge :) I used CC Designs digi stamp from All That Scraps and colored her with my copics. Well, here's my entry this week...

On another note - it's also the best time of the month - Papertrey Ink release time!!! Their stamps and other products are incredible - I really enjoy seeing what the design team members come up with during the 5 days before the release. They're such a talented bunch of gals! Wish I could have traveled to CHA in Orlando to meet the team... Anyway, still so excited... it's like Christmas every month! And who doesn't love Christmas? As part of the Papertrey release, Lauren is releasing two new timeless templates. Fold 'n Go and Tucked Away are previewed on her blog ---> here. She's got a giveaway as well - leave a comment for a chance to win her templates on the 15th. I can't wait for this to be released! I'm in the process of making a number of Get a Handle on It templates to give a Christmas favors at work - I'll share those later. I don't know how she does it every month - nothing short of amazing! Thanks for stopping by! Comments or suggestions are always appreciated :) TTFN, Andrea -------------------------- Materials (all PTI unless otherwise stated) Stamps: CC Designs digi stamp, Scattered showers Paper: Sweet blush, spring moss, raspberry fizz, select white Ink: Color box harbor, versamark Other: Offray ribbon, nestabilities labels, crystal stickles, dew drops, fiskars embossing plate, copics and airbrush system
