Hey All! Time for another challenge at Pile It On!

... and my take on that challenge....

The little juke box and black musical notes are from KWED's new digital release. It was colored with Copic markers. I used a texture plate on the sentiment card stock - it's a bit hard to see, so hear's a close up;


The texture plate is PTI's linen impression plate. I'm in love with it. Seriously... I am :) My attachment is  a little unhealthy...
The kraft is dry embossed with a music sheet EF from Cuttlebug. I based the design around the juke box and the sentiment, hence the more masculine card.

Here's my take on the challenge. I chose Scarlette Cafe from Bugaboo - she's so darn sophisticated... not a bit like me :)




Unfortunately, I didn't have much in the way of plastic product I could use (or at least I could think of using - I'm sure if I were creative enough, I could have found a use for another common plastic product :)). I really didn't have any stretchy material (that would look good on a card anyway :)). I did use a plastic button and a plastic sticker on the interior of the card. I printed her out and colored her with copics (B91, 93; YG11, 13, 17; B41, 45, 37; E41, 43, 47).

I chose Thanksgiving colors for the challenge and thought this pretty sei paper fit the bill nicely :) The sentiment from On My Couch (PTI) was perfect for the sleepy kitty.

Here's a close up...

The paper roses were made with raspberry fizz card stock following THIS TUTORIAL. If you search for "spiral paper rose", many tutorials will pop up, including a few videos. You can make your roses as large or as small as you wish - just draw your spiral larger for a larger flower. It literally took me 5 minutes to make 3. Easy, peasy - gotta love it!

You may or may not have known this (it was news to me :)) but June is Fruit and Veggie Month. In honor of this, this week's challenge over at Pile It On is "Eat your veggies!".
After reading the intro and seeing my project, you may be wondering, "Hmmmm, I don't see any veggies?" :)
That's the beauty of this challenge - even if you don't own any fruit or veggie stamps ('cause I didn't) you can use veggie colors. So it's a pretty broad challenge - head on over and play along.

The top layer of white card stock was cut with PTI flower dies then dry embossed with swiss dots. The layer underneath was stamped in orange zest, spring moss and sky blue (Color box). The two layers are separated by dimensionals to give some depth. Easy, peasy :)

Hello all!
It's challenge time over at Pile It On again and this week we have an inspiration photo for you to sink your teeth into. It's from the White House Museum.

On to my card. The room in the photo has an elegant, romantic feel. It also made me think of travel. So I tried my hand at a vintage-y card with a travel theme.


The background paper is vintage forget-me-not DP (free from internet!) with a faux silk treatment applied. The Eiffel tower postcard was a picture I had lying around - not even sure from whence it came (sorry)! The sentiment is from everyday button bits (supposed to say sending smiles across the miles - I just inked up the "across the miles" portion). Anyway, this is my attempt at vintage - please be kind - LOL!!!! Wish I had some of that awesome colored seam binding I've seen so many people using lately. It would work so well with this inspiration photo. Must order some...

Admittedly, mine are a bit "off" the inspiration colors but I didn't have that particular plum color handy. I also incorporated this week's Pile It On Challenge, "Say It With Words".
