Pinterested in a Challenge?

My sweet, talented blog friend, Laurie at Soapbox Creations has a new challenge on her site.

She's challenging folks to peruse Pinterest, a virtual pinboard, to come up with inspiration for a card.

Pinterest is pretty cool- you can "pin" photos of things you love and see/follow others pinboards. I just signed up to get my own pinterest account :)

So much eye candy there… drool….

Here's the photo I chose;

How cute is that pillow?!

Here's my card;

This was sooooo easy and I love the way it turned out! I used simply chartreuse for the base. Cream circles are stitched and the sentiment is from All About You. I think I may make a bunch of these cards in different colors :)

Please swing by Laurie's blog and check out her challenge - it really was so fun. It took minutes to find a picture that totally inspired me :) Plus, Laurie's blog is FULL of AMAZING inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

One layer card

Howdy!

I love clean and simple cards and make them occasionally. But I really don't do one layer cards that often at all - so here's one I attempted for the latest Play Date Cafe Color Challenge.

This card also qualifies for the Simply Saturday Challenge too - the challenge is to create a simple layout with a repeated image.

This stamp set is a new one (I got it in the mail on Thurs and ordered it the previous Mon - how fast is that?!?!) from Wplus9 Design Studio and I am IN LOVE!!! I really wanted a versatile, interchangeable, whimsical tree set and this Funky Foliage set is AWESOME!!! I can't wait to use it more. Check out their site - great stamp sets, great prices and super fast shipping. So I stamped the trees in orange, hawaiian shores and lady bug then added the tree trunks. The outer border was drawn with a chocolate spica pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Quick Christmas cards

Hi ya! Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays - I know I am :)
Just wanted to share another quick project while I'm on my vacation. These are a few of approximately 24 quick holiday cards I made to cover my card deficit :) I used a few scraps left over from making gift boxes for the folks at work.

It's a pretty simple and easy-to-mass-produce layout. There are 4 of each color variety. The image is from Stocking prints (Papertrey Ink) and the sentiment is from an acrylic stamp set from Michael's (can't remember name). Boy, did they come in handy too :) The card base is stampers select white and the colors are enchanted evening, berry sorbet, ripe avocado, ocean tides, raspberry fizz and scarlet jewel (not shown) all from Papertrey Ink. I used a damask Cuttlebug embossing folder on the base.
Now I'm gonna sit me down and watch "A Christmas Carol"... I sure do love this time of year :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
