CR84FN #33

For my JUGS post, please click HERE :)

Thanks so much for sharing all the gorgeous projects with us during the last CR84FN challenge! WOW! So many fabulous creations!

We've got new colors over at CR84FN!!! Take a gander at this irresistible combination...

The gorgeous inspiration photos come courtesy of Martha Stewart

I wanted to model a card after one I saw on Lucy's Cards HERE. I just fell in love with this Vintage Couple Digital stamp from Hero Arts. I bought mine from Two Peas in a Bucket. Wanna know a great thing about digis aside from the fact that you can manipulate them? INSTANT GRATIFICATION, baby! You download it and can play right away :)

I did two takes of this card;

The first one is on cream but printed in black and on a black base.

The second card was also printed on cream cardstock but in a sepia tone. Isn't this stamp just AWSOME?!

Remember that the challenges are running for two weeks until September but will have an injection of inspiration next weekend so be sure to check back! NOTE: CR84FN #33 will be ending on Thurs., July 14 (one day early). Can't wait to see what you create!!!

Check out what the other wonderful DT members have up their super crafty sleeves;

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wild, Wild, West - JUGS #46

Time for a new Just Us Girls technique challenge! Our talented and lovely Pam is hostess this week and she has challenged us to make a card or project representative of the Wild, Wild West! Yee Haw!!!

Pam chose this theme for our technique challenge in honor of the rodeo that our DT member, Alicia, is organizing. This is a very special rodeo; it's in memory of Alicia's son, Ethan, and the proceeds go to benefit neuroblastoma research. Here's the link to the website -
http://www.ethansrodeo.com/ - hope you can take a moment to visit :)

For those of you looking for western-themed images to use, here are a few links to digi images that were initially sold as fundraisers in honor of Ethan. We wanted to provide you with a few resources; these images are not required to play along with the challenge but they sure are ka-ute :)

In addition to our August featured designer,Jo Westfoot, Theresa Momber from Gina K Designs
will be a guest designer joining JUGS this week. And, if that's not enough, she will also be donating one of her stamp sets called "Out West" to one lucky winner!!!!! Thank you Theresa! Make sure you play along for the chance to win!!!!!

Here's my card;
I used the latest Mojo Monday sketch for the layout. Love this sketch!
The desert silhouette is from Stamp-n-Doodle, Desert Sunrise. I made mine into a sunset using my Copic markers (YR08, Y35, Y17, Y13). Stamp-n-Doodle has some great scenic images - check it out! I stamped the argyle pattern on terra cotta card stock in Versamark and cream. The rustic cream card stock is embossed using, yep, you guessed it, my PTI linen impression plate *happy sigh* :)
Here's a closer view of the image...

The inside...

I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out :) I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do for this challenge at first, but I did have a hankering to do a scene. Quick search of the internet and volia! Thank you Google! So glad I found Stamp-n-Doodle - I'll be going back to get a few more images - I have my eye on a cute little chickadee with Christmas cards in mind!

In other news, we've got another birthday gal over at JUGS - help us wish our lovely and talented Pam a very happy birthday. It's her special day on Monday. Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Paaammmm, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! Wishing you a wonderful day Pam. Thanks so much for all that you for all of us at JUGS! Here's a card for our sweet Pam :)

If you already haven't, see the JUGS site for all the challenge deets. Don't forget to swing by the blogs of the other JUGS DT gals and show them a little love :) Their links are posted on the side bar of my blog. Holiday Twist: Pile It On

Howdy folks!
Time to Pile It On again :) This week the challenge is....
to use holiday colors on a non-holiday card (any holiday will do).

This week's sponsor is the Character Cafe!!!

pastedGraphic.pdf

They are providing one lucky participant with a $15 gift certificate to use in their store! They have a ton of awesome digi images so make sure to play along for a chance to win :)

For my card, I used the sweet digi image, "Tag". Gotta love the cute sleeping kitty - I had a few great sentiments to go along with the little couch potato :)

Challenges this card qualifies for are;

Pile It On: holiday colors on a hon holiday card (I chose Thanksgiving colors)
Mojo Monday: sketch
Incy Wincy Designs: punches
The Pink Elephant: 3 layers, 2 die-cuts and 1 ribbon
Little Red Wagon: use nestabilities
Shabby Tea Room: embossing
KL Stampin and Scrappin': embossing
Creative Card Crew: to die for...die cuts
Penny's Challenges: use 7 of something (I stamped 7 damask images :))
Stamp Something Challenge: recipe (one image, one ribbon, one designer paper)
Bee Crafty: add dimension

I colored Tag with my copics (YR31, YR12, E99, W1, E50 for the cat; R20, 22, 24, 29; YG91, 93, 97 for the blanket; E41, 44 for the chair). I chose Thanksgiving colors for the challenge and thought this pretty sei paper fit the bill nicely :) The sentiment from On My Couch (PTI) was perfect for the sleepy kitty.

Head on over to Pile It On and check out the challenge deets. Make sure to check out the other DT members blogs and don't forget to leave 'em some love - the links are in my side bar :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Saturday night's alright...

...for relaxing :) Had a fun afternoon shopping then a lovely dinner with my hubs. Now we're chilling. It's funny how the definition of a great Saturday night has changed throughout the course of my adult life. No longer is it a night on the town - it's relaxing at home with the family. Boring, perhaps; but I'll gladly take boring :)
I have another card to share for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. I used the really wonderful digi stamp designed by the lovely Kristin over at Just Us Girls. It was given to each of the participants of one of their weekly challenges.

I colored the image with my copics. I used the copic airbrush system to color the background - have to practice with it a bit more as it turned out a little splotchy (splotchy...is that a word?). I think I was a bit too close to the paper as I sprayed. But even the mistakes are fun with these markers :)
Well, that's all for tonight. Hope all of my friends in blog-land are having a great weekend. There's another challenge over at the Just Us Girls site I can't wait to take part in. It's a technique challenge - the chalkboard technique. I've never used it but am excited to try it out. Thanks a bunch for coming by!
