CR84FN #37

Howdy all! Happy weekend!

Ready for all new CR84FN #37 color inspiration?!

The photos in the gorgeous inspiration graphic come from Martha Stewart.

When I saw these colors, for some reason I wanted to stamp the turquoise onto the blue… dunno why. Just call it an inspirational urge :) I figured the best way to do that was with my highly underutilized Perfect Pearls!

From a distance or in the wrong light, the card is a little lacking on the turquoise - but when the light hits it just right, such a pretty turquoise, wouldn't you say? I didn't take any step-by-step pics sadly, but I can tell you that I stamped the medallions in versamark then brushed on turquoise Perfect Pearls (in the Pastels set). Now if it is left just so, the lovely shimmeriness would brush off with every touch - so I set my water mister to a fine mist and spritzed the card stock lightly to set the Perfect Pearls. Then I stamped my sentiment and added a few rhinestones for a little extra turquoise :) I think I'm going to keep this card in mind anytime I need to mass-produce; so easy and pretty :) Mmmmmm, sparkly… ;)

JUGS #99 - 3D project with a back to school theme

Today was my last day of work.

Being the incredible folks they are, they surprised me with a plaque and some very, very kind words… and being the pillar of strength that I am *snort*, I managed three words of thanks before it deteriorated into gibberish! It is a great place to work - a very collegial and supportive environment and I will miss everyone immensely. *sniff*

On the home front, much of my craft room is in boxes awaiting the movers early next week. Which sadly puts me out of commission for a couple of weeks in the crafting department.

But I wanted to drop a quick note, support my wonderful, fellow JUGheads, and let you all know that there's a new challenge over at at Just Us Girls

This week our lovely Lisa has a 3D/Template Challenge - make a 3D project with a back to school theme!

If you already haven't, see the JUGS site for all the challenge deets and see the GORGEOUS projects made by the talented JUGS gals. Here are the links to their blogs so you can swing by and show these fabulous ladies some love!

Hope you find time to play along with Just Us Girls!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Another month, another Papertrey Blog Hop

This month, we had this fabulous photo for inspiration…

Oh the possibilities! I almost broke out Vintage Picnic for this one, but instead the jar caught my attention...

And I went with one of my fav sets, Friendship Jar. And I filled my jar with YUMMY strawberries. I also broke out Half and Half {again!} - I can tell these dies and stamps are gonna get serious milage! I used quite a lot of red on this card too - I guess the strawberries influenced me more than I realized :)

I colored my strawberries with the following Copics - R20, R22, R29, R35 and YG00 for a hint of yellowy green. For the leaves I used YG11 and YG17.  For a little more somethin' somethin', I added a few new leaf buttons with rustic twine.

So last night was my last time in my craft room before the move :( Next time I enter, I'll be packing up my inks and markers and such… it's been such a happy room for me and I'm sure my next space in PEI will be the same way :) Hopefully our stuff will arrive in PEI sooner rather than later so I can set it up ASAP and get backing into craftin' mode!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! I appreciate your visits :) Happy hopping!

CAS-ual Fridays #16

For my CR84FN post, click HERE.
For my JUGS post, click HERE.

Greetings friends!

We are a week and half away from the big move and counting… this week, I'm emptying out my office and packing up a few "special" items that will move on our own. The rest we're letting the movers deal with :)

Before I pack up the ol' craft room {sniff}, I was able to spend a little time in there this afternoon and make a little ditty for the newest CAS-ual Fridays challenge!

For this fun birthday card, I used two embossing techniques and a faux embossing technique :) I dry embossed the card base, heat embossed the white "sprinkles" on the cupcake and used faux embossing for the cupcake panel.

Faux embossing is one of my favorite techniques - it's basically die cuts placed on the same color card stock to give an embossed look.

I just wanted to share a couple of pics of the place to which we'll be moving in a week and a half. I'm originally from Atlantic Canada (lived there most of my life :)) and I'm so excited to be moving back to my old neck of the woods! We're moving to Prince Edward Island, Canada.

PEI is an island on the east coast of Canada.

See…the tiny little island circled in red :)

It's famous for very red soil...

Quaint, peaceful farming and fishing communities…

Sandy beaches with *relatively* warm waters (this is Canada after all LOL!)…

Potatoes and mussels…

The Confederation Bridge…

And perhaps, most famously, Anne of Green Gables

Thanks so much for taking the time to swing by!!! Hope you have a great start to the week!

CR84FN #36 Refresher

For my JUGS post, click HERE

Hey Sports Fans! It's week 2 of the current CR84FN #36 color challenge! Here's a peek at the colors again...

The gorgeous photos in the inspiration graphic come from Martha Stewart.

This card is an amalgam of products - butterflies from Martha Stewart, flowers from PTI, fabulous sentiment from Verve (Thanks again Maureen!!!). The butterflies are embossed in black on vellum and colored with Copics. The flowers are clear embossed on the kraft and colored with pencils for a softer look.

JUGS #98 - Color Challenge

How about some uber fabulous, awesome, JUGified color inspiration!?

Over at Just Us Girls, the super sweet and fabulous Elise has a most wonderful color palette to tempt you!

Is this not a most fabulous color combination?!

So many possibilities…. but sunflowers and new PTI goodies came to mind!

I found the most GORGEOUS card by Betsy Veldman HERE while browsing one day recently. And since I'm in need of a mojo injection, I went with the inspiration from her card. I used my new Simple Sunflower set - I think I have a new love - this set and I were made for one another LOL!

Instead of using the leaves from the set, I went with leaves from Turning a New Leaf. I inked up the leaves and "kissed" them on my woodgrain impression plate for a little bit of texture. I love the effect!

I saw another picture on Pinterest while I was browsing, I came across this lovely pillow…

… and was inspired to make a simple and sweet butterfly card with the colors.

Hope you can see the subtle texture on the cream card stock created with a Linen impression plate from PTI.

If you already haven't, see the JUGS site for all the challenge deets. Don't forget to swing by the blogs of the other fabulous JUGS DT gals and show them a little love :)

Hope you find time to play along with Just Us Girls - we love seeing your creations and always appreciate your support!
