Template challenge - JUGS #52
Hey all!
Whew! Saturday again! To top it off, it's the start of my vacation - can I get a "heck ya!"?
I've been craving some crafty time so hopefully can fit lots in this weekend :)
Time for a new JUGS challenge! It's template time and the DT got to work with one of the wonderful templates from My Time Made Easy called "Tuckered out".
I made this little gift set to house a book mark that I made using some beautiful glass beads I picked up at a local craft store.
Here's the book mark (or book thong, as I guess it's correctly termed :)) in action;
They're super simple and fun to make. Cute little gift for a book-lovin' friend :)
If you already haven't, see the JUGS site for all the challenge deets. Don't forget to swing by the blogs of the other JUGS DT gals and show them a little love :) Their links are posted on the side bar of my blog. Make sure you stop by and visit our September featured designer, Lynn Mangan too :) Thanks so much for playing along with Just Us Girls - we love seeing your creations and always appreciate your support!
Also, a little update on my sweet Spencer... he had surgery on Wednesday. The surgeons had to remove more tissue than they thought (including a few tendons) to get all the mass out of his front leg. He's recovering well and we'll find out next week if we managed to get it all.
Here he is with his bandaged little leg :)
He and I want to thank you all so very sincerely for your wonderful well wishes!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Color Challenge JUGS #51
Before I get to the main topic of the post, I have to thank you all so much for all your sweet comments regarding Spencer, my sweet Golden retriever. We received the results of his biopsy today and it's a benign tumor. Something that surgical resection should cure! YAY! We're breathing a sigh of relief today :) So thanks again for all your thoughts and well-wishes!!! It really means so much - Spencer and I appreciate it so much!!!
It's SATURDAY!!! Time for a new Just Us Girls color challenge! Kathryn has chosen wonderful colors for this week's challenge...
Add a neutral and, for me, it had Christmas written al over it :) Of course, the colors are not just for Christmas, they're prefect for many reasons and seasons!
Here's my take.
I selected kraft as my neutral. I textured the kraft with my fav texture plate - PTI linen impression plate. And here's a close up of the glittery center of the poinsettias and other details.
I had fun with this one! Although I'm tired, this is the first time in a while I felt a bit o' mojo a brewin' :)

Hi all. Quick post tonight... I'm stressing over my golden fur baby, Spencer. I'm probably over-reacting but he's an older guy and we just found a lump on his leg. You may think I'm crazy, but as a veterinarian, I assume the worst until proven otherwise. The lump is so painful to touch that I'm afraid it's associated with a nerve :( The hubs is taking him to work tomorrow to biopsy it (he's a vet too). I'm such a nervous nellie when it comes to this kinda stuff. We found a small lump on his chest several years ago and it turned out to be an aggressive fibrosarcoma - thankfully we caught it early. Hopefully this will be something benign (fingers crossed!!!).
Thought I'd share a pic of him doing one of his favorite activities, aside from eating of course :)
Anyway, since paper crafting is TOTALLY therapeutic, I've got a card to share for this week's Play Date Cafe - it's a color splash challenge! They're my fav!!!! We had a choice of adding pink, copper or gold as our color splash and I chose pink.
Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Here's my take on the challenge. I used JustRite's Christmas Ornaments. I really wanted to make a card with a non-traditional color scheme.

If it doesn't want to make you just throw down and craft, I don't know what will :)
It's the beginning of September which means we have a new featured designer at JUGS - please give a warm welcome to the uber talented Lynn Mangan! We're so excited to have her join us this month so make sure to stop by her blog and say Hi!!!!
On to my take on the challenge...
A Mother's Day card? ... In Sept? Indeedy :) I love this paper and while pouring over possibilities I decided it would make a lovely Mom's day card. The patterned paper is Mariposa from Die Cuts With A View. I stamped the flourish in palette glue and added gold glitter. The butterfly was die cut from patterned paper then topped with vellum and rhinestones.
Here's the inside...
