JUGS # 130: Use a Zipper as an embellishment

Wild card time over at Just Us Girls! Elise is our hostess with the mostess this week and she is challenging us to use zippers creatively as embellishments on projects - so fun!

I went pretty clean and simple…I know. Something new and different for me ;)

When I went to pick up a zipper for the challenge, I have to admit, I really wasn't sure how I would use it. Then I saw this lovely, little red number and I thought putting it in the shape of a heart might be different. I know it's well past Valentine's Day but there's always time for a little extra love :)

DeNami Product Spotlight: Bunny Border

Wow. It's been two weeks since my last post. Crazy.

Sorry for leaving the ol' blog unattended but we've had a bit of turmoil in our personal lives; I'll explain in more detail soon. Suffice it to say my attention has been divided in many directions. Seems like I've typed this paragraph many times before in the preceding months. I've even had thoughts of stepping back from blogging a bit. But then I realized that it's one of the things I really enjoy, so why would I want to erase something I love from my life? Problem solved :)

After my 2 week hiatus, how about a dose of DeNami cuteness?! Check out the stamp in the newest DeNami Product Spotlight!
The bunny border is just ADORABLE! Don't forget, this awesome spring stamp is 10% off for one week!!!

I stamped my Bunny Border on pink card stock (DeNami) and colored them with a white gel pen. I really like how it turned out. I added a few more strips of lovely, spring colors. These bunnies are so stinkin' sweet!!!

Make sure to see what the rest of the amazing DeNami DT have in store!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all are doing well and this post finds everyone is fine fettle (my Dad says this phrase a lot…it makes me smile :D).

A-tisket… a-tasket…. a brand new DeNami Product Spotlight!

It's a large spring basket!!! And this lovely big basket can hold a lot of goodies. Don't forget, this awesome spring stamp is 10% off for one week!!!

I paired my basket with DeNami's Hydrangea Cluster. I added Thanks a Bunch as my sentiment - it seemed to go along with the hydrangea cluster. The basket was stamped on patterned paper and cut out. Then I stamped, colored and fussy cut the hydrangeas. I made a few extra cuts around the leaves of a few of the flowers to wrap around the basket a bit. Hope you like my cute little flower basket :)

It's DeNami Blog Hop time!

This month's hop is all about BIRTHDAYS :)

By now, you're well into hopping and you should have arrived here from the lovely Kerri Smith's amazing blog.

If not, head on over to the DeNami Blog for the master list of hop participants.

You'll want to stay on track… leaving a comment on every blog along the way (including the DeNami Blog) gives you a chance to win one of TWO $20 DeNami gift certificates!!!! Another  $20 gift certificate will be given to a randomly chosen blog hop participant! You have until March 12, 2012, 11:59pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

For my card, I used DeNami's Decorative Borders, Happy Birthday Script and the Birthday Celebration stamp set, all from the latest release. The card base is navy although it almost looks black in the picture. The little images are colored with Spicas and they look so cute and sparkly in person.

That's it from here :) Off to your next stop, which is the amazing, talented Tammy Hobbs

Happy Hopping!!!

Time for a new CR84FN challenge

Before introducing this week's colors, we have a CR84FN update.  On a gloomier note, after this challenge, our teammate and friend, Stephanie Kraft, will be stepping down from the CR84FN DT :( We are so very sad to see you go Stephanie but you can be sure we'll be stopping by to say hi and view your always inspiring, beautiful creations! Stephanie has been an incredible, supportive teammate and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors! Please take a moment to swing by Stephanie's blog and leave some love.

How about these stunning colors?! Just cheers me looking at them.

Here's what I came up with for week one of these colors;

The daisies just make me happy too - can't help but smile when I look at them. The daisies are made from Bloom Builders #3 die from Papertrey Ink. The base for the flowers and leaves is a Mega Mat Stack die from PTI. Finally, the yellow card base was dry embossed with a woodgrain embossing plate.

Please take a moment to stop by and visit the other CR84FN gals - leave 'em a bit o' love too :)

Just Us Girls #127: Faux Embossing

Technique challenge time over at Just Us Girls! I'm the hostess this week and it's all about Faux Embossing.

I remember the first time I saw someone (the talented Betsy Veldman to be exact) use faux embossing - I fell in love. Such a neat way to use die cuts.

In case you're wondering exactly what I'm talking about, there's a tutorial HERE on Splitcoast Stampers.

I had just the dies in mind for this challenge when I sat down to create my card. The flourishes were made for this technique. I'm still on my white-on-white kick so I had to make yet another one. I added a pop of color with Hawaiian Shores ribbon and a tiny tag :) So cute. Simple but elegant, I think.

Check out what the rest of the talented JUGS DT has whipped up!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
