JUGS #112 - 3D / Template Challenge

Howdy all! There's a new challenge over at Just Us Girls and I'm the hostess :)

This week, the challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a set of cards and a matching holder / packaging! Fun, right?!

I went simple for my cards, something slim and easily packaged...

I actually used a snowflake die to cut a piece of sheet magnet (the kind you can run through a printer). Then I inked up the snowflake with white pigment ink and stuck it to the PTI linen impression plate. I then laid a piece of kraft card stock carefully on top and ran it through my Bigshot. Volia! Pseudo-letter press! The idea is not my own - there's an awesome tutorial by Julie Ebersole on Ellen Hutson. Love this look and will be trying it again :)

Here's the group of cards - I went with more jewel tones for the card bases and sentiments for a bit more contrast.

Now, onto my packaging… I recycled an acetate stamp box. I have a TON of these, can't throw them away (swear, I'm not a hoarder :)). I made a few cuts and adjustments to fit my cards and envelopes. I forgot to take pictures step by step but I will do it soon to show you my process.

I started with a thinner acetate box…..

And ended up with this….

I finished off the box with purple ribbon and another die cut snowflake to match :) I punched two holes in the snowflake and ran the ribbon through it, tied a bow and done!

Hope you like my project!

First and foremost, to all my American family and friends, Happy Thanksgiving! Wishing you a holiday full of family, friends, love and great food!

Time for a new DeNami Product Spotlight!!!

This little pine sprig is just so darn versatile! It can stand on it's own or be incorporated with other stamps.

For this card, I used DeNami's Small Pine Sprig, Season's Greetings and lime card stock. I stamped the small pine sprigs in two shades of green for a little depth. I used red stickles to make the holly berries.

Make sure to see what the rest of the amazing DeNami DT as well as Glenda, our guest designer for the Month of November, have in store!

ALSO…. DeNami is having a HUGE Black Friday Sale in their store on Friday!!!! Be sure to check it out :)

In Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving in October. But my hubby is American and we have a number of American friends here in Canada, so we are having a Thanksgiving get together on Sat with turkey and all the fixin's :) YUM! Have a happy and safe holiday friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CR84FN #43

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

Check out the new, cozy CR84FN #42 challenge colors!!! So many possibilities!

I've been deriving a lot of inspiration from other crafters as of late, and this one is no exception. Maile Belles posted THIS CARD a little while ago and I feel immediately in love! I knew I had to CASE it. I'm also entering this card in the Buttons Galore and More Christmas Card/Tag Party.

I embossed the Tree Trimming die on kraft, stamped the tree image then cut off the left side of the card stock. I stamped a few snowflakes on the base then stamped and embossed the sentiment on the top. I dunno why but I really feel uncomfortable stamping the sentiment up there! How weird is that?!?! It sorta makes me twitch…Funny huh? Or just plain scary LOL!

JUGS #111 - Color Challenge

It's my favorite time of the week - for many reasons :) One of those fabulous reasons is that it's time for a new Just Us Girls Challenge! This week, Vicki has chosen the classic but oh-so-fantatsic seasonal color scheme of red, green and white.

When I saw these colors, I thought they were perfect for a poinsettia card and, therefore, another chance to use my Poinsettia set from PTI! Nichole Heady had posted a card HERE in which she stamped the poinsettia in layers. I just loved the effect and had to make one of my own! Plus, it makes a great CAS card, easy for mailing ;)

I masked off a part of the poinsettia and stamped the leaves. Then I used a few little leftover black rhinestones in the center - I've been on a bit of a bling kick lately and the card just didn't seem done without it :) After stamping the sentiment, I drew a border around the outside with a black Spica pen - a tiny bit more bling.

Hope you are enjoying the November DeNami Blog Hop!

This month, the challenge was to make a anything but a card. You should have arrived here from Karen Larkin's amazing blog.

If not, head on over to the DeNami Blog for the master list of hop participants.

You'll want to stay on track… leaving a comment on every blog along the way (including the DeNami Blog) gives you a chance to win one of THREE $20 DeNami gift certificates!!!! Another $20 gift certificate will be given to a randomly chosen blog hop participant!

I have seen a few of these framed Christmas decor projects and I decided to give it a go.

I started by stamping the snowflakes in white StazOn on the back of the glass.

Then I embossed the sentiment on the surface of the glass. You can see it a little better in the picture above. At this point I couldn't decide if I wanted to leave the back off the frame or not - it looked kinda nice ether way. Ultimately, I added a piece of shimmery blue card stock to the back.

Here's a quick pic of the frame with no backing, only the glass, hanging on the wall in my craft room...

Which do you like better?

Anywho, off to your next stop which is Sarah Vait- Melby! Happy Hopping!!!

It's week 2 for the CR84FN #42 challenge colors!!! And boy are they good 'uns!!!

So many fabulous entries so far and one more week to play along!

For this week's card, I took my inspiration from a photo I found on Pinterest;

To add a little definition to the butterflies, I embossed them with my mehndi impression plate from PTI. Hope you can play along!!!
