Time for a new DeNami Product Spotlight!

We have the always festive lovely Cornucopia in the spotlight this time around.

Normally, I would whip out the Copics to color this delightful image, but I decided to go with a more neutral palette. Not really holiday colors but I really liked that plaid paper and decided to run with it. I had a hankering for a negative die cut (gosh, how I love a good negative die cut ;)) so I thought I'd turn it into a framed image. I also sponged around the image with distress ink.

REMEMBER: The featured DeNami Stamp is 10% off for one week!!!

Make sure to see what the rest of the amazing DeNami DT as well as Tammy Hobbs, our guest designer for the Month of October, have in store!

On a personal note, we are LOVING living in eastern Canada. Although it's been 7 weeks since we arrived, pretty much all of our time has been devoted to work (and running back to the Canada-US border, but that's a story for another time:)). The hubby and I had to hit the ground running at work and I'll likely be running for a little while, but it's all good and will hopefully only last a few months, until I can get everything I need in place :) In exciting (but admittedly nerdy) news, I got a brand new baby at work… a 27" iMac. Is it wrong to love a computer? Convention be damned… I love it. The screen has AMAZING resolution and it is like LIGHTNING!!! My job requires a computer with a pretty powerful graphics processor and great screen resolution and this is POIFECT!!! I do love my toys :)

Hey all! Welcome back for a new installment of CR84FN challenge colors :)

Aren't these colors STUNNING!!! I was so excited to tackle them!

I decided to ink up a good ol' standby, my Turning a New Leaf stamps. I added a few blooms from the Flower Fusion series to bring in the colors.

JUGS #107 - Halloween themed template

It's that time in the Just Us Girls challenge rotation to take things 3D… Halloween-style!

So I thought on this project for a while. Templates and 3D projects…I really like them but, well, let's say they're not the easiest thing for me. While pursuing the web for inspiration, I cam across THIS VIDEO demonstrating how to make lollipop holders. Lollipop holders were already on my radar (especially since I had found really cute, yummy, green, purple and orange lollipops :)), but when I sat down to craft, I realized I really didn't have a nice holder to display the lollipops once I had them decorated :(

Hello, self-standing lollipop holder!

These would look so cute out on a tray or table at a Halloween party or get together. And, they are SO easy to mass produce! Wanna know another awesome thing about these projects?! I was able to make them almost entirely from paper scraps! Score!!!

The main lollipop holder base is made from a strip of 6.5" x  2.25" card stock scored at 2.5" and 4". That's it. Embellish as desired… see, easy ;)

Here's a side pic to show you the really cute lollies.

CR84FN #40 Refresher

For my JUGS post, click HERE.

Stopping in with a quick post - a refresher of the CR84FN challenge colors :)

And here's take two of these most fabulous colors...

While browsing a while back, I saw a photo of off-set canvases of different sizes hanging on a wall. Wish I remembered where I saw it! That was the inspiration for this card. So the idea for this card had been banging around in my old noggin for a while - I was so excited to implement it. When I sat down to make it, the translation from idea to reality didn't go so smoothly. I played with different backgrounds and layouts before finally deciding to simplify. Good ol' white space :)

JUGS #106 - Color Challenge

Check out these awesome colors from Just Us Girls!!! Talk about fun!

I don't make many Halloween cards but these colors just screamed (get it?) Halloween.

I saw a pic on the web of a harlequin pattern using these colors and thought it would make an awesome background. I used an argyle stamp and used by trusty ol' Copics to color it up. Then I used a scrap of muslin, soaked it in colorless blender and patted it on the argyle pattern. I think I over-soaked the muslin - I was going for the pattern of the muslin but ended up with something a bit more blotchy. I still kinds like it :)
